Get ready to step "into the water" and buckle up and get ready to have another "Girl On The Train" "I never saw that coming" moment

!This article may contain spoilers so if you don't want to know about the following please stop reading this article now or just turn away now please!

I'm sorry for the pun but I just couldn't resist it...anyhew I was perusing my email inbox the other day and an e-mail popped up from Waterstones about the brand spanking new book that you can pre-buy now before it sells out like hot cakes when it officially is released on May 2nd this year from their website from the author of "The Girl On The Train" Paula Hawkins called "Into The Water".

According to the author:

"This story has been brewing for a good while..."

she goes on to say that:

"For me their is something irresistible about the stories we tell ourselves, the way voices and truths can be hidden consciously or unconsciously, memories can be washed away and whole histories submerged. Ten two sisters appeared, and the novel began to form."

sounds intriguing...and with how successful her novel "The Girl On The Train" was and then with how successful this was when it went to cinemas who's to say that this next novel of hers won't go the same way...so in other words readers of this book should probably expect the same,-now this is probably just me- twists that will have you thinking "that came out of nowhere", like in the movie adaption of "The Girl On The Train" the audience are completely gripped by the story of finding out who killed Megan and the audience think that Emily Blunt's character couldn't possibly have killed her because it's too obvious that even when she wakes up covered in blood that she could have killed her, then you think "did Emily blunt kill her?" because everything points to her, how she saw her and she was drunk and she did hit someone with the same red coloured puffa jacket as the one Meghan was found to be wearing the day she died, and it's not until the end of the film do the audience see that all along it was Emily Blunt's characters ex-husband that killed Megan and he'd been feeding lies to both his new wife and to his ex-wife and he nearly hurts his baby and nearly kills his ex-wife that figures it all out...it just leaves the audience thinking "I didn't think of that"...or that could just be me though.

This new novel does sound as intriguing as the last novel with the story centring on the body of a single mother being found at the bottom of a river that runs through town, earlier in the summer a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate but these aren't the first women to drown in the river thus disturbing the river and it's history dredging up secrets long submerged.

But I have just thought with how the author has said about "two sisters emerged" it sounds like she needs to put some spoiler alerts up of her own because this sounds like the mystery is kind of solved that these two women aren't just linked by how they were found dead in the river, they obviously were related by the sounds of how the author is talking and that there is going to be something to do with both of these women that leads both of them being found dead in the river.

"Snatch" is being turned into a TV series?

I have just read the headline on MTV's website about there's going to be a TV show "loosely based" on Guy Ritchie's "Snatch"...WTF!

I'm a massive fan of both "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" so when I first heard about this I just had to see the trailer for this new TV series because how the hell do you put something as good as "Snatch" into a TV series without it being shit...because I would have thought that you couldn't possibly replicate something as good as this film or I would have thought that it would be very hard to make a TV series out of the movie.

But then again I do think you could probably do something on the untold story of the character Soap from "Lock, Stock" about is being in a kitchen environment the best place for him, especially when he produces all those knives to his group of friends when they want to steal the money from the drug dealers next door so as to cover the loss of the debt that Charlie has when he can't continue in the card game that the porn king controls and he tells him he has to pay up when he loses or he'll make his dad pay by selling him his dad's bar.

So here it is the trailer for this new TV series that Collider.com says will be a 10 episode series:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZWWsWxOIig

Although Allison Keene writes on Collider.com that she thinks that:

"...writer and showrunner Alex De Rakoff looks like he has found a sleekness and style all his own..."

It looks more like to me although Alex De Rakoff may say that he was paying homage to Guy Ritchie it does look like he as well as the lead actor Luke Pasqualino is trying a bit too hard to me to make it look like it would be something Guy Ritchie would do, for example Luke Pasqualino puts on a fake cockney accent and even wears a long brown coat just like Jason Statham wore when he played the character Turkish, and there's even stealing diamonds with guys dressed up as Jewish people...even down to the way their's a voice over at the start of the trailer and how all the names of the character's come up on the screen in the trailer seems to me to be a bit too try hard to get people to like it as I assume I'm not the only person who loved this film and I assume Alex De Rakoff wants to get as many people on side to watch the series because this will be on a streaming service so I assume that you will have to pay to either use this service or if you just wanted to watch the series so if there's a high enough audience number then the more money will get generated for everyone involved with this TV series.

And I do realise whilst writing this that this may sound a bit harsh on this new TV series that will be available to stream on CRACKLE on March 16th 2017, but I probably will try and watch this and at least give it a go because of being a fan of the film "Snatch"...but saying this I really don't know how well it'll do because if it doesn't have a squeaking dog then I don't think that I'll like it.

But it does say though in this TV series' synopsis that they're will be:

"... rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend..."

So it sounds like there is still hope that a Hatchet Harry or a Brick Top kind of character or even some pikeys or an unlicensed boxing match might crop up in this new TV series that also features Rupert Grint, Lucian Laviscount, Dougray Scott, Ed Westwick and Juliet Aubrey.

Other things that audiences of this new TV series will see is according to the official synopsis of this series on Collider.com's website is:

" "Snatch" centres, on a group of  twenty-something, up and coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck of gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes organized crime. The boys must learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London's underworld..."

So reading between the lines it sounds like to me that audiences will see a lot of action, a lot of different characters will come out the woodwork that will obviously come from all levels of London's underworld and that this group of guys will almost accidentally fall into London's underworld from being small time crooks.

Street legal Formula 1 cars...now that's a new one!

Continuing with the recent themes of cars I was reading this on Top Gear's website yesterday and I just had to put it up on here.

According to Top Gear's website Mercedes AMG are set to reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September their 1,000bhp-plus hypercar Project One.

According to Daimler CEO Dr. Zetsche this hypercar "...will be the missing link legitimising the integration of AMG with the Formula One team..."

And he goes on to say that:

"It will be a limited production, and ideally we want it to be sold out before the first one is delivered. It's the first street legal car with a Formula One engine, and will be perceived as the ultimate sports car."

This is the first glimpse of this new hypercar with a Formula One engine that Top Gear's website have had from Mercedes AMG:

So still Mercedes AMG are not giving anything away about how this new supped up hypercar will look like.

Although what Top Gear has managed to gleam from this "glimpse" of Project One, is that it looks like the finished car will have large vents and cooling slats on the rear and that it will feature a central fin that supposedly promises unprecedented aerodynamic downforce on a road car.

But I was just thinking how on earth can you realistically design a street legal formula 1 car with all their big engines, their completely different technology that includes completely not meant for roads top speeds, breaking speeds that are completely different to road cars, even the way the car is steered on a formula one car is completely different to road cars as they usually have a six gear gearbox with paddles on the back of the steering wheel that help the driver to drive the damn thing...and where do you even begin with the price of the car no matter about how on earth you'd even start to think how one of these Formula 1 cars become street legal.

But I have just thought that although there would be a lot of interest in owning a hypercar that has Formula 1 technology and engine inside...because come on who wouldn't want to own something that they can experience or even drive around the streets and pretend that their in an F1 car? but also according to this same Top Gear article Mercedes AMG aren't the only ones trying to do a street legal Formula 1 hypercars.

Adrian Newey has apparently designed and co-created along with Red Bull Advanced Technologies the Aston Martin AM-RB 001:

According to Top Gear this design draws downforce from immense underbody voids, and the driver would be sitting in it much like a Formula 1 driver would with their knees and feet high, there would be a naturally aspirated brand new ultra-compact V12 engine, the exhaust would exit upwards behind the tear dropped cockpit canopy. This hypercar will also according to this same Top Gear article be around 1,000bhp-per-tonne and will have a targeted weight of under 1,000kg.

Further research into what the transmission, suspension and battery will be like that will eventually go into the final hypercar will take a bit longer...but according to Adrian Newey this car will be comfortable to drive and he has said in this same article that he does understand that this must be friendly to drive and that it must be possible for normal drivers to not get intimidated.

This will have a limited run of 99 plus track versions of this car, with a production-date end of 2018 and if you have a spare £2-3m you could own your very own slice of this hypercar...so this car hasn't been designed for the average joe then.

The difference that the Mercedes AMG hypercar will have to the Aston Martin Red Bull designed hypercar is that it will have is a 1.6 litre V6 engine, split turbine, electric motor on the crank and the all-wheel drive application so says Tobias Moers Mercedes AMG boss. This has been done so says Tobias Moers to make this new hypercar more sophisticated regarding efficiency and drivability.

Moers says that turning this car into a street legal car will be tough though as the engine in a F1 cars already idles at about 4,000rpms but for this car it will idle at about 1,200 or so rpms. Also Moers says that for Mercedes AMG they need space for cooling and for the radiators.

Also one thing is for sure that this Mercedes AMG will have an electric powertrain with them reckoning that the car will do 15 miles on electric power alone. But Tobias Moers does say though despite this promised phenomenal performance potential the car will be easy to drive...it's just learning to trust the aerodynamics and getting used to the available downforce that'll be the tricky part that drivers of this Project One will have to get used to.

So other than these details there's no information on what kind of customer you'll need to be in order to own your very own slice of silver arrows F1 hypercar...whether like with the Aston Martin Red Bull car you'll need to be an ex-Formula 1 driver that owns your very own yacht or could you actually be an average joe and still get your hands on one of these cars? who knows but I'll keep my eyes peeled for anymore info on this when it is released.

Hyped up cars Part 3

WOW! now this looks niiiice, like a real boy racer car. According to Top Gear's website this new Honda Civic Type R model for 2017 has had it's centre of gravity dropped with the car being lighter meaning that much of the interior versatility has been lost in the name of making it a fun drive...but when you have a car like this don't you just want to have a fun drive in it? and don't you want to pretend your in "Fast and The Furious" and see what it's top speed is?,- but I've just realised although this sounds like a fun thing to do it's probably not a good idea as most if not all of those mindboggling car crashes, car chases etc are just stunts... their not real so if anyone tried to do them in real life they'd probably just end up looking like idiots as they'd be endangering their own lives and others...but we can all dream right, I've also just thought that this sounds a bit like the safety message that gets put at the end of the film credits,-.

Well you can't really say that Ford Fiesta's are supped up never mind about being hyped up cars regardless of this Ford Fiesta being a new revamped model for 2017.

The new part of this new design model according to Auto Express's website is that it's got slimmer front seats, 4mm longer wheelbase, 18 inch wheels therefore this results in there being 16mm extra space of knee room thus making this newer version more spacious in the front and the back with an expected luggage capacity of up to 290 litres.

EcoBoost petrol engines will come as standard.

Not much is known yet about this McLaren MSO BP23 but all that is known about this car is according to Top Gear's website that this will be a hybrid, carbon tubbed limited edition car that will apparently put the driver front and centre in the action with room for two passengers either side of the driver...say what!? by this sketch how on earth can this car have any room for two passengers?

Also according to Top Gear's website this will be a hyper-GT with more of a focus of comfort and touring ability.

And just cuz' any excuse to watch the new trailer for "Fast and Furious 8", here's the link to see it if you haven't already seen it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DMpqplvADQ

Hyped up cars of 2017 Part 2!

This is the NEW Alpine and Cayman, not much is yet known about these two model types but according to Top Gear's website the Alpine will have a four cylinder turbo engine that will be mounted between the seats and rear wheels, and that it'll have a dual clutch gearbox, and it will do a top speed of up to 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds.

This is the Lamborghini Huracan Performante...I know it's a bit of a mouthful to say but this has only been seen test driving at the Nurburgring and is thought to be shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and apart from this scant piece of information it is thought that the bodywork for this model will focus on giving more downforce, and it is also thought that the mid mounted 5.2 litre V10 engine is expected to have new fuel injection technology that mixes multi-point injection with stratified injection so says AUTOCAR's website.

Also according to this website this will help this four wheel drive trim down on the regular cars sprint finish of 3.2 seconds 0-62mph and possibly extend its 202mph top speed.

According to Top Gear's website this is available in two versions, 1) as a standard 467bhp version or  as a widebody GT C form or b) as a 549bhp version with its familiar 4.0 litre bi-turbo V8 engine.

This is the Tesla Model 3, this is an electric car that according to it's own website achieves 215 miles of range per charge, starting price is $35,000 before incentives and it is designed to attain the highest safety ratings in every category.

Tesla's own website boasts that this car combines real world range, performance, safety and spaciousness into a saloon that only Tesla can build.

Apart from this there isn't much known about this car that might according to Top Gear's website get pushed back to 2018.

This is the Peugeot 5008...this to me does look like a squished box on wheels,-not very appealing to look at,-but according to an article on AUTOCAR's website that was published on 7th October last year there are some design features which even to my mind are just mindboggling because of how this thing looks making it sound as if it's a real tardis.

According to AUTOCAR's website this comes with seven seats, all three rows of seats have length adjustability, five different angles of inclination and three-point ISOfix anchor points. Rear passengers are given power sockets, blinds, trays on the back of the first-row seats, cup holders and hooks...very swish!

Boot space can be maximised by removing the third row seats...these seats weigh less than 11kg to make extraction more easier.

Also according to AUTOCAR's website when this car does come to the UK,-this is thought to be mid February- the wrap-around I-Cockpit which adds 12.3inches TFT instrument display and 0.8inches centre console touchscreen.

Also this car comes with either a turbocharged petrol engine or a diesel engine.

JESUS! now this really does look like a box on wheels. But hang on...on Land Rover's own website there seems too be some really cool sounding features with this new Land Rover Discovery for 2017 model like instead of having a key to get into the car you can have the optional Activity Key wristband which is waterproof and robust.

Also there is a 10inch HD touchscreen display, this also includes a "plug and play" feature using the USD ports that act as additional storage for movies and music and there will be charging points for multiple devices.

This is also a seven seater. Also I've just read on Land Rover's own website that there is an optional Terrain Response 2 technology in the car that monitors the driving conditions and automatically selects the driving modes to achieve the best possible chassis and powertrain set up depending on the conditions your driving in.

Also this comes in both a petrol and diesel engine choice.

According to AutoExpress.com's website this new Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport has a longer wheelbase,-increased by 92mm-.

Also for this new coupe styled new Vauxhall will have a revised engine, according to Auto Express's website although it's not yet been specified what these revised engines will be but it's thought that these will be a mix of 1.5 litre and 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engines, and 1.6 and 2.0 litre turbo diesels, this is thought to improve fuel efficiency and improve performance.

Auto Express's website says that the standard transmission set up will be front wheel drive and a six speed manual gearbox, but also according to this website Vauxhall will offer selected engines with four wheel drive and an eight speed automatic gearbox.

Also according to Top Gear's website there will be loads of optional features on this car including LED matrix lighting, a head up display, stacks of driver aids including a 24hr manned call centre guardian angel for drivers, OnStar.

I was just reading on CarWow.com's website how this new VW Golf GTI has now got an upturned grille included in this models refresh for 2017 and now it's lost its friendly features and looks more aggressive I have to agree that this model of a VW doesn't look as friendly as the VW Golf Beatle's features do,-the Herbie the lovebug cars, sorry I just couldn't resist mentioning Herbie when writing about VW Golf cars-.

Also according to Top Gear's website this isn't the only update Golf have made, apparently there will be new bumpers that will be inspired by the Nurburgring crushing GTI ClubSport. Also according to Top Gear's website power has been improved with up to 242bhp and a new seven speed gearbox arriving for faster shifting and leggier cruising.

I have also just realised that this may also be just be a tad long post so there will be a part 3 to this if you would like to read on.

Wednesday 4 January 2017

You thought the cars in "Fast and The Furious" and "Need For Speed" movies were hyped up wait to you see some of these cars in 2017

Happy New Year and I hope you all had a really good Christmas, I was just perusing the internet yesterday and saw this on Top Gear's website and I have to say some of these look sweeeet!

This is the NEW! Bugatti Chiron1 model...if you like me have read that Bugatti had stopped making their fantastically designed Veyron- well in my opinion it was- and have been going "Oh my God! What the hell are Bugatti going to make now?" well this according to Top Gear's website is what they've made next and thankfully this hasn't lost any of it's Bugatti looks, like with the Veyron you just took one look and just wanted to know how it drove and hoped that it drove fast and oh boy it drove fast with speeds of up to 268mph  ...I do realise while I'm writing this that it may sound like I'm a bit of a boy racer and my enthusiasm for the Bugatti Veyron is just pouring over but who doesn't love the look of a fast car especially a Bugatti? and want to see how fast it can drive or want to know what the engine sounds like when you rev the accelerator or even when you just put the key in the ignition?...ok I think even from just writing this even I can gather I may just be a bit of a petrol head.

Anyhew...according to Bugatti's website this super sports car Chiron 1:

"The Chiron1 is the most interpretation of Bugatti's brand DNA and embodies our new design language. The styling accentuates the performance aspect of the super sports car."

I bloody well hope that this styling accentuates the performance aspect with according to Top Gear's website 1,500bhp, and according to Bugatti's website a 16 cylinder, four turbos double powered and give a guaranteed maximum torque at 2,000rpms and the torque is maintained at this level all the way to 6,000rpms and also according to Bugatti's website this results in unbelievable acceleration and with a top speed of 260mph according to Top Gear's website.

And according to Bugatti's own website each Chiron1 is one of a kind as individual as it's owners, with this website saying that the level of individuality can be achieved is subject to very few limitations...and even if your like me and don't have that kind of cash to splash on one of these cars you could still play around with the different colour combinations to see what colour tickles your fancy if you had a Bugatti Chiron1...well we can all dream can't we?

Here is the link below to play around with these colour combinations:

http://www.bugatti.com/chiron/

  Alfa Romeo Stelvio interior

This isn't exactly a supped up hyper car but you can expect to see this new Alfa Romero Stelvio model in 2017.

According to Alfa Romero's website this is the first Alfa Romero SUV that combines a commanding driving positions with a low centre of gravity... this sounds to me like a confusing combination to have in a car because it sounds like to me that although you have a good position to see everything when your driving that you might not be able to feel the car on the road which I'm pretty sure in a car is a very important thing to feel when you are driving.

Anyhew...although Alfa Romero's website does say that although the car is extremely light, has an outstanding wheel feel it does perfectly match the handling of a performance car with the comfort of a traditional SUV...this sounds all well and good to me but why should car lovers get excited about this new SUV?

Well...Top Gear's website tells us that this new Alfa Romero SUV is powered by a Ferrari engine, but according to Top Gear's website neither Alfa Romero nor Ferrari like the association with Ferrari saying according to Top Gear's website that this twin-turbocharged 2.9 litre, V6 is "inspired by Ferrari technologies". Alfa Romero's own website states that although this new SUV has a lightweight body structure it also has a carbon fibre driveshaft...so in other words that this car not only is lightweight on the roads and does it feel comfortable to drive when your holding the wheel but when you turn the car on there will be a bit of a kick and a nice noise from the Ferrari engine.

And nice to know that although the name doesn't leave much to be desired this is a five seater.

I still can't believe that when I look at this image that this is a Ford, it looks more like a Ferrari or a Lamborghini to me ...yes your eyes are not deceiving you this is Ford's NEW GT that has been aerodynamically optimised with a extraordinarily powerful 3.5 litre EcoBoost V6 engine...and according to Ford's own website this tear-dropped shape is the result of extensive work in the wind tunnel, and that this car has been specifically designed for pure performance...well with looks like that it better deliver on performance!

The bodywork has been built out of carbon fibre as well as according to Ford's own website saying that every single element of this Ford GT has been designed to deliver the extraordinary speed and exceptional handling found in purpose built racing cars.

Also according to Top Gear's website this Ford GT has a seven speed dual clutch gearbox instead of a manual.

Again this isn't really a supped up car like the Ford GT or the Buggatti Chiron1 but according to Top Gear's website this follow up model from the old CX-5 looks smarter on the outside and more "German" on the inside...so I'm guessing that means that the interior has been built more efficiently, built more technology based with a view to if you want something to work well it should be built really well...(please don't get offended if you are reading this but I am just thinking of other German cars like BMW's and Audi's).

Good gracious! Ok this really doesn't look like a supped up car but there are some parts of the Mini Countryman for 2017 that sounds exciting according to its website.

For one thing this new five seater has according to Mini's own website says it has a jacked up suspension for higher ride height that gives you a perfect view whether your driving on the road or going off road, and these seats stretch out to four metres in length, and they can even move backwards for up to 13cm of extra leg room.

Mini have put into this the latest generation anti-lock brakes which allow you to stop quickly on slippery roads. The Electronic Breakforce Distribution distributes brake force between the wheels to suit the driving conditions...neat!

Cornering Brake Control improves stability when cornering at speed and Brake Assist speeds up the process minimising the brake distance.

So this sounds like you'll definitely be safe in one of these!

This is the BMW X2, this to me sounds like it's still a BMW body but with just bigger wheel alloys and made more boxier than it's normal long lengh saloon type car models or the long length sports versions so BMW can fit this model into the category of crossover.

I do realise that this post may be getting a bit long so to see more new models of cars in 2017 please read part 2 of this post.
