Update on A Dame To Kill For

I was reading this the other day and this got me very excited....there have been some new confirmed cast members to this sequel to the first Sin City. Not Only this but according to The Playlist blog this Sin City:A Dame To Kill For is set to be released in October, four weeks after Machete Kills another of Robert Rodriguez's films that is set to be released on September 13th.

According to IndieWire's The Playlist blog Jeremy Piven who is at the moment starring in ITV's Mr. Selfridge, Juno Temple who was in Batman:The Dark Knight Rises as Selina Kyle's partner in crime and Ray Liotta who was in the fantastic Goodfellas and Smokin' Aces with Jeremy Piven who in that film played Buddy Israel who was going to give his heart to his father who turned out to be an FBI agent turned mafia head.

Also this morning I read on Empire's website that to add to the excitement of Joseph-Gordan-Levitt, Jaime King playing Wendy/Goldie, Rosario Dawson who is back to resume her role as the head of the prostitutes in old town, Jamie Chung who will play Miho who in the original Sin City helped Dwight out of the bogs when he blown up from the car that was carrying the dead body of Jack the cop that Dwight killed, Jessica Alba who will resume her role as Nancy Callaghan and Mickey Rourke who will resume his role as Marv...but I just thought that both Bruce Willis's character and Mickey Rourke's character who got the electric chair in Sin City so how is he going to be ressurected?

According though to The Playlist which did an interview with Frank Miller last year:

" Sin City number two is primarily an adaption of the book "A Dame To Kill For" ...It also features the short story , "Just Another Saturday Night" and two new stories . One involving Jessica Alba's character, Nancy Callahan, that I came up for the movie in order to tie things together and make it be more united with the first."

So however they get Marv and Hardigan back from the grave it might make a lot more sense than some of the other films that I've seen.

The Playlist also reported last year that William Monahan who wrote the script for The Departed has been signed on to make sure they have the script all signed sealed delivered so that they can start the cameras rolling and work from a screenplay.

So however the stories will be adapted I think it's safe to say that with the writer of The Departed on the books this film will be just as good if not on a par with the first Sin City, or even like The Departed with clever smart writing.

Shiver me timbers...Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is being written!

I apologies for the pun in the title for this post but I just couldn't resist! I was perusing the internet the other day and I saw this, not only are the Mouse House Disney wanting another Alice In Wonderland but according to Variety they have got someone to write the script for Pirates Of The Caribbean 5.

According to Variety Disney have got Jeff Nathanson to write the script but here's the confusing bit according to IndieWire's The Playlist blog Terry Rossio had two years ago signed on to write this new edition to the cash cow series....so who is actually writing this damn thing! Well I've just tried to see if I could find any new updates on any blogs that could help me out, but unfortunatly all I kept getting was the same as this story.

I can understand if Disney has decided to hire a new writer for this fifth film because I've seen Pirates Of The Caribbean:Dead Man's Chest and I have to say that it was a bit shit and wasn't anywhere as good as the first film that Terry Rossio co-wrote.

But on the other hand Jeff Nathanson has written 'Catch Me If You Can' with Leonardo DiCaprio in and I have seen this but I do have to say that I thought this was soooo slow and boring that I walked out half way through...and I've never had to do this with any other film so I think that it's fair to say this is saying a lot! So maybe it's best if Terry Rossio who has co-wrote all the other films in this series stays on so as to make this film fast moving, action packed and above all enjoyable.

Johnny Depp hasn't officially signed on the dotted line for this yet but I'm guessing that depending on how much money he is offered to do this role he'll be back for the role...but Variety does say that Johnny Depp has said he would return if the material was good.

Apart from this not much is known about the plot details whether any of the original cast members other than Johnny Depp are going to come back or not so we'll just have to wait and see for any more news on this.

Here comes the calvry to save HMV's day!

I just saw this headline on NME.com "Major record labels assemble rescue package for struggling HMV", and being an avid user of HMV to get all my CD's and DVD's this I have to say piqued my interest, as the first time I heard that HMV were going into administration I heard it on the radio the day I came back from holiday so it made me a little depressed to hear this news, I did though know they were in trouble before but I thought that something had to be done to help so that the highstreet wasn't just an wild west town with tumbleweed being seen blowing down it thanks to the recession and major shops having to close.

But thankfully with this news it looks like someone might be wanting to give HMV a helping hand.

According The Sunday Times Universal Music, Sony and Warner Music are getting together a rescue package that is said to be supported by film big wigs Warner Bros., Universal Studios and 20th Century Fox making this a multi-million pound rescue deal to save HMV and stop it from going out of business.

The Sunday Times also reports that the record labels coming in to save HMV want to give the retailer generous credit terms as well as cut the prices of CD's and DVD's.

Industry insiders have said about this rescue package that the big wig record labels and film studios have come in to help save the day because they were desperate keep alive a specialist retailer to avoid cut-throat pricing by supermarkets and internet distributors...one was reported as even saying that:

"They don't want their only choice to be Tesco or Amamzon".

It's understood says The Sunday Times that this entertainment industry consortium are favoring the bid put in for HMV by Hilco- an investor in struggling businesses-.

But this article does also point out that although this news about the big wigs of the entertainment industry coming in to save the day being very exciting they have in fact sat up and taken notice as HMV is said to account for 1/5th of  the British CD and DVD market.

The Call...You have to watch this!

I saw the poster for this new movie with Hallie Berry and this looks like a really good thriller.

The story behind this film is Hallie Berry plays a veteran emergency call operator who must confront a murderer from her past.

I've just been looking for the UK release date for this film that but all I've been getting is bad reviews but I just thought that as she's an emergency 999 call operator she should put the call through to the police rather than keep listening to the call because she's bored and a bit of a nosy bitch and I think it is fair to say that when she makes the mistake of calling a terrified girl back after she's phoned up as she's heared someone enter her house...that it's her fault that the girl gets murdered.

So after that you would have thought that she'd never be put in that situation again but because this is a movie she is put into this same situation and gets a chance to put this situation right i.e she gets the chance to be the hero and actually save another girl that is going to get murdered by the same murderer.

According to IMDb.com The Call is released over in the USA on the 15th March 2013.

Scary Movie 5 Trailer #1!

I saw an image of this film the other day on IMDb.com and I saw the trailer yesterday...this is hilarious.

I don't know how the director Malcolm D. Lee managed to get Charlie Sheen in this film as I would have thought that this was a big risk because of all the trouble in the past especially with the tiger blood and machete wielding so I would have thought that he couldn't play with others mainly for their own safety.

But this looks like the others that he's playing with such as Lindsay Lohan and it looking like that he gets a 5 second role in it where he can do nothing wrong to add to the list of memorable things of Charlie Sheen.

The story to this movie is that Ashley Tisdale and Scary Movie veteran Simon Rex play Dan and Jody who bring home their new baby back from the hospital and start to experience some paranormal activity so with the help of home surveillance cameras and a team of experts they learn they are being stalked by a demon.

This is out in cinemas over here in the UK on the 12th April 2013 if you want to know the dates for when this is out in your country just go to IMDb.com and click on the UK date and it'll show other dates for other countries.

Hallejulah HMV may have a savior!

I was just perusing the internet looking for something to fill the time while I've been snowed in and this story on Ditigital Spy caught my eye.

I was really sad to hear the other day when I came back from a family holiday in Lanzarote and heared on Radio 1 that HMV were going into administration, I couldn't believe this news when I first heard it but I do have to say that I knew before that HMV had been heading for trouble and I had heard that they were going to restructure some parts of the company so as to see if they could try and survive like they started doing live concerts, selling merchandise, mp3 downloads along with other things but alas this wasn't enough...

But now according to Digital Spy OpCapita the retail group who were GAME's white knight in shining armor have been among the many that have approached Deloitte who have been appointed to be HMV group administrators earlier this week including Hilco who own HMV Canada as well as private equity group Endless...but also Digital Spy has reported that there have been "...50 expressions of interest in HMV's assests..."

GAME Retail CEO Martyn Gibbs told The Financial Times that GAME Retail that:

"...We will constantly review our property portfolio based on what is available..."

He went on to say that:

"...We will not rule any stores that are becoming available, be that through an administration or normal property deals".

Digital Spy also reports that GAME Retail are wanting 40-45 store locations in towns where they don't have a presence.
