Meatloaf ok after collapsing on stage and much more unbelievable news!

I was just perusing the internet to see if there was any more news on Meatloaf after he was filmed live on stage in Edmonton in Canada whilst on his cross Canada tour was taking place collapsing as he reportedly sang "I Will Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)"...and I found this surprising piece of news.

According to Times Colonist's website MeatLoaf will continue on this tour,-in a "the show must go on attitude" I guess, sorry for the pun I just couldn't keep it to myself I had to do it- and will play his scheduled Saturday night gig that is due to take place at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, Canada.

This same website also states that Meatloaf has stated a media blackout for his Canadian dates, so this means no previews and reviews of his shows are available not even any updates or further information have been released via his official Facebook page or his verified Twitter account...so this to me sounds rough because I was thinking if you were a fan of Meatloaf and had bought tickets to any of these Canada gigs or if you just wanted to know if he was alright after he collapsed then because of this media blackout you wouldn't be able to find out if you could still go to these gigs or if these gigs had been cancelled and were going to be rearranged for another time or if you just wanted to find out if he was ok or not.

And I'd think if you were a fan and had bought tickets to anyone of these tour dates I'd think you'd be feeling pretty anxious about the news of him collapsing because according to Times Colonist website this isn't the first time that this cross Canada tour of Meatloaf's has had many a fan sitting on the edge of their seat, not only because you may or may not know that according to several other reports Meatloaf suffers with a syndrome that causes an irregular heartbeat as well as this collapse being attributed to dehydration and asthma, but some of these tour dates have already had to be cancelled such as a tour date that was scheduled to take place on June 18th in Cold Lake, Alta but according to Times Colonist website Meatloaf then returned to play in Lethbridge on Tuesday...and he is also said to be scheduled to play a gig in Penticton on Thursday fingers crossed.

But according to Times Colonist's website these stumbling blocks haven't put a damperner on his plans to reunite with long time songwriting collaborator Jim Steinman to release Meatloaf's new album "Braver Than We Are" which is set to be released later this year on September 16th according to Rollingstone Magazine's website.

The first single from this new album "Going All The Way" is said by RollingStone Magazine's website to be:

"...a multi-movement symphonic-rock epic in the vein of  "Paradise By The DashBoard Light" and "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)"  with all the attendant melodrama of those hits."

And RollingStone Magazine's website goes on to say that this song:

"The song features additional vocals by Ellen Foley, who sang on "Paradise", Karla Devitto, who appeared in the "Paradise" video and sang Foley's part on the "Bat Out Of Hell" tour."

RollingStone Magazine's says that this album will feature 10 never before released Steinman compositions, and that Jim Steinman got final say on the mix and the composition of these songs before they were deemed finished.

This same article also states that Paul Crook former Anthrax guitarist has helmed this new album of Meatloaf's as well as also playing guitar on this same album.

And if you want to hear a preview of this new song by Meatloaf then why not click on the link below to RollingStone's Magazine's website:

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/hear-meat-loafs-bombastic-new-track-with-bat-out-of-hell-songwriter-20160622

After hearing just the first few bars of this song it sounds like to me that Meatloaf's voice is more than a bit shaky and maybe time to hang up his coat and probably let "Bat Out Of Hell" die with dignity, I see why he is only touring one country and maybe why now I come to think abut it Meatloaf is not doing any press for this album and just touring it because if his voice isn't up to much then people will probably think it's just because it's live and Meatloaf is probably doing more than just singing so fans are going to be lulled into wanting to listen to what the song's sound like normally after the shows or from YouTube before these shows and therefore there might not be as bigger response from people buying physical copies of this album or from streaming or downloading this album...but I do realise before anybody reading this either on their laptops, androids or Iphone's start screaming at their screens whilst reading this post this is just my opinion.

News just in Idris Elba's new music project!

I was just perusing vevo.com today to listen to some music and this came up on vevo.com's homepage:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvemQhu9nmA

You may or may not already know that Idris Elba when he isn't busy filming things like "Luther", "The Dark Tower" or "The Jungle Book" he is busy DJing all over the world doing sets at Snowbombing and Creamfields.

And now according to MixMag.com presents a new project "Hiatus", and the first track from this project is called "Spectacle (All Gone Pete Tong Edit)", and according to MixMag.com this track was produced in Idris Elba's own studio and this music video as well as the composition for this song was done by Idris Elba, he also has shot the music video for this with Ian Morgan and composed this with Graeme Cohen.

The producer of this dance track is Warren Ferreira.

According to MixMag.com:

"It's more club-friendly than the original as there's more drive but the festival-feel is still firmly intact."

I would have to agree with this,-but it does make me wonder what the original version of this song of Idris Elba's was, I imagine that it probably sounded more drum and bass, more house or more garage sounding, or probably something not so mainstream sounding or something that sounded like it needed something to get it on radio and heard by all, not just heard because it's a new project by Idris Elba that's been remixed by Pete Tong, ( according to MixMag.com "The radio pioneer was shown the track when the two met in LA and he's flipped the cut on it's head, turning it into a 4/4 house roller") - I can definitely see it being played in the clubs of Ibiza or now that I think about it, it will definitely put you in the party mood and I could probably see it even being played in the height of the party season being played at places like Nikki Beach St. Tropez.

And I've just seen on Amazon UK's website you can now download this mp3 album "Spectacle"...sweeeeet!

And While We're on the Subject of Robert Ludlum...

You may or you may not have seen but I have just read an article on Variety.com's website as I saw a headline about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson joining the cast of a Robert Ludlum film on IMDb.com's website and it then suddenly disappeared...so naturally I googled this just to see if my eyes weren't deceiving me and I wasn't going crazy and this is apparently true.

According to an article on Variety.com's website Jeffrey Weiner, Captive Entertainment, Brad Fischer, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Mythology Entertainment have closed a deal with Universal Studios to produce a collective universe based on the best selling novels of Robert Ludlum, (who you may or may not wrote and created the "Jason Bourne" series) the first film that has been developed for this universe is Robert Ludlum's "The Janson Directive".

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will star in this as well as executive produce this along with Danny Garcia and their Seven Bucks Productions company, Tracey Nyberg of Mythology Entertainment, Seven Bucks Productions' Hiram Garcia, Captive Entertainment's Smith and Jeffrey Weiner and Mythology Entertainment's James Vanderbilt along with Brad Fischer and William Sherak and Akiva Goldsman will also produce this first film.

If you like me haven't read these books the story follows a former spook now turned best private security consultant in the world being framed for a horrendous crime and in order to survive he must team up with the protégé sent to kill him.

To tie in with this universe James Vanderbilt will co-author two more stories which will be adapted into screenplays.

Jason Bourne Update!

You may or may not have heard but there is coming to cinemas near you another Jason Bourne film and this time Matt Damon is back to reprise the role of Jason Bourne and Paul Greengrass is also back to direct, produce and according to Collider.com Paul Greengrass along with Christpher Rouse will write this new Jason Bourne film.

The first time I heard the news that Matt Damon was coming back to this film series I was very excited because even though Jeremy Renner was good in this role in my opinion,-and I might just sound a bit like an X Factor judge when I say this,- he wasn't as good as Matt Damon as I think that Matt Damon really made this role his own...an I think he really brought this character of Jason Bourne created by Robert Ludlum to life and this along with the action and the storyline was what was so good about these Matt Damon instalments of the Jason Bourne film franchise.

and I did think when I went to the cinema go to to watch the "Bourne Legacy" film with Jeremy Renner in and Rachel Weisz I left this same cinema feeling really disappointed which was not a feeling I wanted to feel when watching a Jason Bourne film, because I felt like this was a first part of something and that it was going to lead up to something...and thankfully it led to the exciting news that Matt Damon was coming back to this film franchise.

Anyhew...you may or may not have seen the trailer here is a link to it on Youtube.com for this new film here it is below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uLVIUuEfFY

From the looks of this first official trailer there's another programme and according to Julia Stiles's character Nicky Parsons "it's even worse than before"...and it looks like after she hacks into this programme (which I can't understand why she would do that has nothing been learnt from the last four movies, the people involved in this shady programme will come at you and anybody you know however they can until your dead), and it looks like she's got Jason Bourne involved to take the bad guys down...but again I don't understand why would she do that because after the events of "The Bourne Ultimatum" where the filmmakers obviously wanted her to be another Marie character with her dying her hair and cutting it short that Jason Bourne put her on a bus and told her no friends no routines just blend in to the crowd so that she could stay hidden from whoever was coming after him, and once again it looks like Jason Bourne has to take down the bad guys and tell them to leave him alone...

but this time there is a difference it does look like Jason Bourne has finally got his memory back....as well as their being newcomers Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones and Vincent Cassel appearing in this new instalment of "Jason Bourne".

To see how this new addition to the "Jason Bourne" film franchise will stack up to the other films you'll have to wait for and note down in your diaries 27th July 2016.

Frank Marshall will also produce this film along with Paul Greengrass, Matt Damon, Jeffrey Weiner for Captive Entertainment, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith.

fast and furious 8 update!

Now readers of this blog will already know that I am a massive fan of "The Fast and The Furious" films, and I was just perusing the internet and I came across this news update on Empire Magazine's Facebook page and I just couldn't not blog about it...I had to just tell some one about this.

Start your engines... Vin Diesel has once again got the PR ball rolling for this next instalment with this full cast photo posted to his Instagram account:

Fast & Furious 8

sorry for the pun but I'm just too excited about this news and the thought that there's going to be an eighth addition to the "Fast and Furious" film series and I'm just excited because it's "Fast and Furious".

According to Empire Magazine's website this is a full cast photo of just some of the stars you're likely to see in this next instalment of "Fast and The Furious", along with original cast members Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges...with the addition of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (you may or may not recognise him from the 5th, 6th and in the most recent film instalments of this film series as he played Hobbs who was head of the elite taskforce that the CIA hired to find Vin Diesel's character Dominic Toretto, his sister Mia Toretto, Paul Walker's character Brian O'Connor after Dominic Toretto had escaped from the escort bus that was taking him to Longpok prison and followed them to Brazil but then helped them complete a heist after his team members were killed, and then in the 6th film Hobbs needed the team's help to catch Owen Shaw and in exchange the whole team were going to get pardons but that all changed when Mia got kidnapped by Owen Shaw and instead the team got the house where Dominic and Mia grew up instead of pardons and then Hobbs broke out of hospital and a full arm cast in the 7th instalment when Owen Shaw's big brother came after Toretto because he and the team put his brother in hospital).

...and of course back for their second runs in this film series is Nathalie Emmanuel who you may or may not recognise from "Fast and Furious 7" she played the character Ramsay who along with some terrorists and Deckard Shaw was working with had created "The God's Eye" which was a hacking system that could see anyone from anywhere provided there was a camera, Jason Statham is returning to play Deckard Shaw and so to is Kurt Russell to play Mr.Nobody...with the new additions of the now confirmed Charlize Theron, Scott Eastwood and Kristofer Hivju.

Charlize Theron is reportedly going to play the new villain of the movie called Cipher with Kristofer Hivju also reportedly going to play the role of her henchman.

Scott Eastwood is reportedly going to be playing in this next film in the series Mr. Nobody's protégé.

"Straight Outta Compton" director F. Gary Grey will be directing this next instalment and will no doubt be seeing what else he can do next after the car flying out of three buildings's stunt from the last film. And he will be using Cleveland, Cuba and Iceland as filming locations for this next instalment that is said to be released in cinemas on April 14th 2017.

No They Didn't, Say It Isn't So! An Actual Remake Of Splash is coming to cinemas near you!

I just saw this on Collider.com and I can't believe this is actually happening...I think I've just had to pick my jaw up off the floor after hearing this unbelievable piece of film news.

According to Collider.com via an interview with CNBC producer Brian Grazer told correspondent Carl Quintanilla that:

"I'm actually gonna do Splash today, and I can't say . I'm actually going to do it from the point of view- I can't say anything about it. There's a movie star involved or gonna be involved. I haven't announced it."

And in case your reading this and thinking "is this guy talking about doing Splash the TV show"...no you'd be wrong in thinking this, Brian Grazer is in fact talking about remaking the Ron Howard directed "Splash" that starred Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah as a mermaid who saves Tom Hanks from drowning and she then becomes a human to track him down.

And he went on to say in this same interview that this new take on the Tom Hanks film will be a "version of" his original concept for "Splash" which was called "Wet" (so says Screenrant.com) which was according to Screenrant.com was based on the mermaid's point of view, and when Brian Grazer was asked in this same interview whether he would go back to this original idea for "Splash" he said said that:

" Yes. And that's what...we're going to do a version of that. But I can't tell you the twist".

This isn't the only Tom Hanks film that is getting remade as according to Collider.com the film "Big" is going to be remade into a half an hour comedy adaption that will be loosely based on the original's film but has been described as "looking more at what it means to be a kid and what it means to be an adult and how that in today's world these two things are more confused more than ever", as well as the film "Bachelor Party" being made into a half an hour comedy anthology by ABC this series again is only loosely based on the original film's narrative but will be geared more towards examining relationships and the institution of marriage.

This sounds to me, now I think about it that these two remakes are going to be over analysing what was a fun family film and is going to suck all the fun out of them and have people thinking "what was the point of remaking it if that was what they're going to remake it like".

Apart from this not much else is know about this remake, so we'll just have to wait and see what other news comes out about this remake.

Stephen King's "It" update!

Like I was saying in my last blog post this adaption of this book of Stephen King's "It" seems to me to have been long time coming and there seems to have been a lot of conflicting reports about this firstly I heard via Empire Magazine's website that Cary Fukunaga was going to be directing this movie remake and that Will Poulter who you may or may not recognise from ""The Miller's" and "The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader" where he played Edmund who got turned into a dragon was reported to be cast as the demonic clown Pennywise.

But...and this is a big but now according to The Hollywood Reporter's website this is all changed

According to an article on The Hollywood Reporter's website Cary Fukunaga who walked away over creative differences which put the film back a year while New Line Cinema were looking for another director for this and thus made Will Poulter unavailable to be in this movie so of course he dropped out and now Andy Muschietti who directed the surprise horror "Mama" will now direct and Bill Skarsgard who is the brother of Alexander Skarsgard who will be starring as Tarzan in this summer's "The Legend Of Tarzan" film is in final negotiations to play the role of the demonic clown Pennywise instead.

This article also reports that this film adaption of Stephen King's book will be told in two parts, the first part will tell the kid's story, and the second part will focus on the adult's who have to band together again to fight "It" once and for all even though they have no memory of the first battle.

The story follows a group of teens called "The Loser's Club" who defeat a creature called "It",-and if you are familiar with the story for "It" you'll know that Pennywise is a clown which is the form that an evil entity frequently takes the form of and lives in the sewers and when he smiles is all killer teeth-.

Barbara Muschetti, Seth Grahame-Smith, Roy Lee, David Katzenberg and Dan Lee are producing this film adaption, with John Silk executive producer and Richard Brener, Walter Hamader and Dave Neustadter overseeing this for New Line Cinema.

Talking of all these Stephen King books that are being adapted to be made into movies one other Stephen King book that I think all Stephen King fans, fans of "The Shining" film would appreciate and just because in my opinion it is a bloody good story should that should be adapted into a film should be "Doctor Sleep",-if unlike me you haven't read this you must read this as it's such a page turner and it's so gripping and thrilling you'll find it hard to put it down as you'll want to find out what happens next, I relise now that I've said this if you want to read this book and not know what this is about STOP READING NOW!- this story picks up after the events at the Overlook Hotel and follows Danny Torrence and how he is still tormented about what happened at the Hotel and how he turns to drink and alcohol to dull his shining and how he drifts from town to town and has lost touch with Dick Hallorann and how Mrs. Massey (the ghost from Room 217) along with other ghosts from the hotel still haunt him, so when he was younger he was told by Dick Hallorann to create lock boxes in his mind and to put them there so that he wouldn't be scared of them anymore. But then he comes to a New Hampshire village called Frazer where he decides he's going to get clean so he gets a job part time working on a tourist train and then in the evenings he works at an old people's home where along with a cat which is said by the staff of the old people's home that if he goes into a patients room then that person will die but he also has the reputation of using his "shining" to help these patients cross over and it's in Frazer where he comes across Abra a little girl who has an even more potent shining than he does and after she witness a murder of a little boy by "The True-Knot" (a group of quasi immortals that feed off of people's "steam" and they travel round in campervans) that they try and hunt her down as they think that her steam will cure all of them that are getting sick and dying as well as helping them live for ever, this inevitably leads to Danny having to have a showdown with them that leads back to the campsite that is located right next to the old site for The Overlook Hotel and a showdown with the true knot's leader Rose who he has had repeated warning via his shining to stay away from the lady in the top hat.

Stephen King films news updates!

You may or may not already know about this film news but as I mentioned in my last post on here I'm catching up on all things movie and music wise.

Anyhew... there seems to be some new updates on Stephen King's long gesticulating movie remake of Stephen King's "It" which seems to me like it's been rumbling on for aaaaaaages as does seem the same as the making of Stephen King's other book " The Dark Tower" series of books which last I heard Ron Howard wanted to direct this adaption,,-(to see these news updates about Stephen King's "It" please see this next blog post),- but now I see that according to Entertainment Weekly's website things have slightly changed on this front, Ron Howard is still aboard this movie adaption but as one of the producers along with Brian Grazer, Erica Huggins of Image Entertainment and Jeff Pinker as executive producer.

And also it has been reported in this same article on Entertainment Weekly's website that Nikolaj Arcel will begin adapting this series of books written by Stephen King as well as co-writing this film adaption,-Nikolaj Arcel is best know for co-writing the screenplay for the Swedish version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo" which in my opinion is the better film version of this book rather than the American remake of this film, because the Swedish film adaption of this book was great on it's own and to be honest I don't really know why their was a remake of this film anyway, well saying that I do know why their was a remake firstly because I guess this was in Swedish and secondly the first film was seen by loads of people and that probably translates into a lot of money was made at the cinema as a lot of people would have bought tickets at cinemas to go and see this film when it was originally released.- along with Anders Thomas Jenson, Akiva Goldsmith (who will also be producing this film adaption with his Weed Road Company) and Jeff Pinker.

And this same article also says that Idris Elba who you may or may not recognise from the brilliantly amazing "Luther" TV series or you might just even recognise his voice from "The Jungle Book" recent remake as the voice of Shere Khan or you might even recognise his voice from "Zootopia" as the voice of Chief Bogo and music fans just might recognise him from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' song "Dance Off" (if you haven't seen this music video yet please see below)

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9LAzNMn8Ow

has been confirmed to play the gunslinger,-if you haven't read the books like me this character is called Roland Deschain who is a sort of frontier knight who's weapons of choice are a pair of revolvers who needs to get to the dark tower which stands at the nexus point of time and space in order to save his decaying world and in order to complete this journey to the dark tower he must call upon our world for help, drawing on a junkie called Eddie, an amputee called Susannah and a young boy called Jake to be part of his "ka-tet" (a term used for a group brought together by destiny), but also wanting to reach the dark tower is "the man in black"-, who according to this same Entertainment Weekly article Mathew McConaughey will play,-this character in the books is a devil who goes by many names but mostly Walter O' Dim or Walter Padick who wants to reach the dark tower in order to rule over the dark tower's seemingly infinite kingdoms.

Also according to this same Entertainment Weekly article Abbey Lee who you may or may not recognise from "Mad Max: Fury Road" is reportedly in talks to play the role of Tirana, but it's not yet known who will be cast to play the roles of the other characters.

The first film will not though adapt the plot of the first book "The Gunslinger" which was published in 1982, but what is known about this Dark Tower adaption is according to Stephen King:

" (The movie) starts in media res, in the middle of the story instead of at the beginning, which may upset some of the fans a little bit, but they'll get behind it, because it is the story"

But Nickolaj Arcel did hint about this film's plot saying that:

"A lot of it takes place in our day, in the modern world"

But also according to this same article filming for this will start in South Africa and Song Pictures has plans for this film adaption to be released in theatres on January 30th 2017.
