God it's all kicking off even before "Fast and Furious 9" has even begun!

I totally agree with Collider.com's website that when there's any news about anything to do with "Fast and Furious" it is virtually impossible to write anything or even for me to post anything up on this blog without making a pun about cars, engines etc.

Anyhew...You may or may not have heard but there has been a lot of news circulating recently on the internet that a lot of things have happened that you might have thought would threaten to derail this movie franchise and even stall "Fast and the Furious 9" even being made, things like arguments going on between Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Tyrese Gibson who plays Roman Pierce in the films blaming Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson why the release date for "Fast and Furious 9" has been pushed back a year to April 10th 2020 and there's not even been a confirmed cast for this film nor a confirmed script for this movie...but fear not "Fast and Furious" fans according to The Hollywood Reporter's "Heat Vision" blog there will be a "Fast and Furious 9" and that according to "sources" Universal Pictures had pushed this release date back to accommodate potential director scheduling and also according to these same "sources" The Hollywood Reporter's "Heat Vision" blog says that Universal Picture's top man for this is Justin Lin who directed "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift" and "Fast and Furious 6".

This according to Collider.com's website will be the penultimate film in the franchise as according to Collider.com Vin Diesel has always said that the Fast and Furious franchise would tap out at 10...so I'm thinking that this to me would leave a huge gap in the movie world to make a franchise or fill the gap with something that would gross as much money as this franchise did but in my opinion the trick to this might have something to do with having an original idea like the first film was created out of an idea based on a magazine article about the street racing culture that was going on in the San Fernando Valley around the turn of the century.

Anyhew... according to The Hollywood Reporter's "Heat Vision" blog Universal Pictures are already creating a spin off film that centres around Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's character from the films Lucas Hobbs and Jason Statham's character from the film Deckard Shaw. This according to this same article on the "Heat Vision" blog has been pencilled in by Universal Pictures to be released on July 26th 2019.

Also according to this article Chris Morgan who has been in charge of writing the scripts for these films ever since "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift" is said to be now writing the script for this spin off film...but this same article does say though that no deals between these two actors have not been made.

And it already looks like Universal Pictures are already looking ahead with ways to make more money out of this franchise long after the cameras stop rolling with there already being planned for next year a live arena show, a theme park, consumer products and according to Donna Langley chairman of Universal Pictures who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter saying that:

"The global brand of "Fast and Furious" is strong and full of iconic characters, and we look forward to continuing to build on the film that started it all, as well as expanding into different narratives beginning with our first spin off".

So sounds like to me you should watch this space for more things to come from this money making film franchise.
