Hold The Bus! No Sam Mendes to direct the next Bond film Christopher Nolan might direct?

I saw a headline last night on the internet saying "Christopher Nolan fan favourite to reboot James Bond" and I know that I've not been blogging on here for a while but I didn't realise that Sam Mendes wasn't coming back to direct Bond 25.

Anyhew...I have just read on The Express's website that according to Barbara Broccoli one of the producers of the James Bond film franchise has said that:

"We've got our Daniel; we've got we've got to find our director. We've got to find the director. We're working on the script and we'll see...Hopefully by the beginning of the year we'll have more news on all those fronts."

So this as you can imagine has started up a whole new rumour mill among James Bond fans who is going to get this...and according to this same website the top of this list is Christopher Nolan and also according to Archivo 007's website:

"On this occasion, two different sources, one from the United States and the other from the United Kingdom ...tell us Nolan will be the director and that he is already working on the film."

This website goes on to say that:

"These solid sources foresee that the official announcement can be made in January or February 2018".

I have to be honest as a James Bond fan myself that as soon as I read this news my first thought was that this definitely must mean that Tom Hardy is going to be involved in this next James Bond film in some capacity either Bond himself or as an interesting idea from the Express's website a villain.

This next Bond film is set to be released in the UK in November 2019.

But in another article published on The Express's website Christopher Nolan has said about the possibility of directing a James Bond film to Playboy Magazine:

"Maybe one day that would work out. You'd have to be needed, if you what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you".

So this sounds like to me that if Christopher Nolan were to direct a James Bond film one day then he might have a go at rebooting the franchise...and The Express's website has as you can already imagine started thinking of the ways that Christopher Nolan can reboot this franchise.

One of their imagining's is that Christopher Nolan could take the franchise back to the original period which the author Ian Fleming set his books which were set between May 1951 and February 1964.

And of course they've suggested that Tom Hardy could be the shoes once Daniel Craig finishes his turn in this franchise, or Christopher Nolan could make James Bond a woman or that he could keep the franchise still in the present as  Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson and co. have made since Daniel Craig was cast in the role as James Bond.
