Rita Ora being sued by Roc Nation

The other weekend I was reading in The Sun's newspaper that Rita Ora was going to be suing Roc Nation as according to her Roc Nation had lost interest in her career and had been focusing on Rihanna's career as well as Calvin Harris as well as it being reported that because of Rita Ora's and Rihanna's 'beef' with each other apparently Roc Nation had been listening to Rihanna and holding back songs that Rita Ora would have recorded and letting Rihanna have first dibs on these songs.

But now according to TheWrap.com Roc Nation have slapped a lawsuit on Rita Ora on Friday suing her for $2 million plus along with unspecified damages for four albums that have not yet been delivered.

Also according to TheWrap.com Roc Nation's complaint that it filed with the New York Supreme Court on Friday, Rita Ora signed with Roc Nation back in 2008 when she still an unknown and agreed to deliver 5 albums, only one of which she's turned over.

This complaint goes on to say that Roc Nation invested millions of dollars in marketing, recording, and other costs which were instrumental in guiding Ms. Ora to her current level of success and fame. And Roc Nation also claims in this same complaint to have sunk more than $2 million into her in-progress second album.

Roc Nation has also alleged breach of contract and want $2 million plus damages back along with unspecified damages for the four albums which haven't been delivered.

But this isn't the only complaint that Roc Nation has filed as TheWrap.com says that they filed a cross-complaint to Rita Ora's lawsuit in California with similar allegations on Friday.

But according to Rita Ora's attorney, Howard King who has said according to a statement provided to TheWrap.com that:

" Jay Z has personally and graciously promised Rita complete freedom from Roc Nation, the details of which are now being finalised..."

He goes on to say:

" We believe that Roc Nation's distributor, Sony Music, has required Roc Nation to file this action to preserve whatever rights Sony might have pending resolution."

This sounds like to me with her attorney saying this that Rita Ora's team believe that this lawsuit isn't coming from Roc Nation itself but from it's distributor Sony Music, and that this lawsuit isn't serious as Jay Z and Rita Ora and her team are trying to sort this out themselves so that this doesn't go to court...but to me the $2 million plus does sound very harsh to be wanting in a lawsuit but I'm guessing and to the sounds of it so does Rita Ora's team that Sony Music are covering themselves if this matter does go to court.

So with all this going on who knows if Rita Ora will be reprising her role as Mia Grey in the "50 Shades Darker" and "50 Shades Freed".
