Rumour has it that Charlize Theron might be joining "Fast and Furious 8"

I have just seen this headline on IMDb.com's website and I have to say that being a fan of this film franchise this did pique my interest.

According to Variety.com Charlize Theron has had an offer to join the cast of "Fast 8" as a new villain.

Although Variety.com does say that Universal Studios is eager to add Theron to the ensemble cast, the website is unclear where negotiations stand at the moment and there has been as yet no word from Universal Studios.

Catching up on all the Fast and Furious news updates especially the ones from the PR foghorn machine for these movies himself Vin Diesel, this poster reveals that this F. Gary Grey directed next film in the franchise is set to be released on 14th April 2017 ( in the UK), and Fast and Furious 9 will be released on April 19th 2019 (in the USA), and Fast and Furious 10 will be released on April 2nd 2021 (in the USA).

According also to DigitalSpy.com Furious 10 will ultimately end the franchise altogether, with Vin Diesel saying that:

" Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision...they have been like family... I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga."

Now that I think about it, this will be a very sad day for all the fans of this film franchise...to not have a Fast and Furious film being released into cinemas it'll be like the end of an era, like there will be a big whole,-now that I think about it this will probably make other filmmakers nervous as film studios will want to fill this gaping whole once these films stop being made with something as equally action packed, something all age ranges of cinema goers will want to enjoy watching and something that is as equally good-, what will fans of this franchise be left to do but sit twiddling their thumbs... I've just thought that maybe that when these films finish this would be the perfect timing to release another "Need For Speed" as there has already been talk about making another one of these thanks to the "Fast and Furious" franchise.

Anyhew...also according to DigitalSpy.com inside sources on these set of films have said that Eva Mendes's character Agent Monica Fuentes that you may or may not have seen in "2 Fast, 2 Furious" and at the end of "Fast and Furious 5" might return for "Fast 8" and rumour also has it that she may team up with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's character Hobbs and Vin Diesel's character Dominic Toretto to take on a new villain in New York.

And it has also been rumoured that as of the sad passing of Paul Walker his brother Cody who along with his brother Caleb came in on the last film to finish any scenes of Paul Walker's might return in this "Fast 8" as some sort of relation to the character Brian O' Connor, and it has also been rumoured that Kurt Russel's character Mr. Nobody might make a return, and it is hoped that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's character Hobbs might make a return, along with Tyrese Gibson's character Roman Pierce, that Ludacris's character Tej Parker might also return and it is also hoped that Michelle Rodriguez might return to reprise her role of Letty Ortiz.

But it is also said by Variety.com that Jason Statham's character of Deckard Shaw is expected to return to reprise his role in this next film.

But it has also been quoted in this article of DigitalSpy's from the main man himself, Vin Diesel that:

"There are so many (casting) options!"

He goes on to say:

"You've got Nathalie Emmanuel's mother (to cast). You've got, of course, the matriarch to the Shaw brother's !".

Nathalie Emmanuel played the hacker in "Fast and Furious 7" Ramsey that Toretto's crew along with Mr. Nobody rescued from Jakande's terrorist group who had kidnapped her as she had created a piece of software called "The God's Eye" that allowed you to see anybody from anywhere allowing you to hack into anything such as CCTV camera's, phones, camera's at ATM's etc... and they wanted to have it.

So it looks like the casting net has been thrown wide open for this or for the other two films in this franchise, and it looks like this net is set to only get wider as DigitalSpy.com says that Lucas Black who you may or not have seen in "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift" and had a cameo role in "Fast and Furious 7" might be back for this film "Fast 8" as according to this same article of DigitalSpy.com's when Lucas Black first signed up to appear in these films he committed to a three instalment deal...so the guys over at DigitalSpy are guessing that Lucas Black might be back for "Fast 8" possibly even for the next instalments in this franchise.

And last but not least on this all you need to know about what's happening with the "Fast and Furious" films, you may or may not have heard that for the first time ever this film is hoping to film a segment of this film in Cuba with The Hollywood Reporter being told by Universal Studios that it is currently seeking approval from both the USA government and the Cuban government, but other locations for this film are New York, and according to DigitalSpy.com the filmmakers of this film franchise have been looking into Russia and Iceland for other possible film locations.

No word on what sort of high octane fast cars will be involved in this film or the other two installments, but all that F. Gary Grey would say though is according to DigitalSpy.com is that he looks to follow "Star Wars 7" director JJ Abrams style of both great action and a compelling story to mix for his first film in the "Fast and Furious" saga, by saying via Collider.com that:

" When you look at someone like JJ Abrams who gives you the spectacle and great action set pieces but also gives you character and plotting and narrative, I think it's my job-and my intention- to do both"

He went on to say that:

" You amp up everything, you work on the performances, you work on the story, you work on the action; it's not one thing. Hopefully I bring more to it, that's part of the point is to bring something different to the franchise while still satisfying what the fans want."
