The Talented Mr. Ripley might be getting a TV series!

I just read this on Empire Magazine's website and this piqued my interest as I have seen both "The Talented Mr. Ripley" directed by Anthony Minghella film which starred Matt Damon and one of the follow up films to this "Ripley's Game" which starred John Malkovich as the title role of Tom Ripley but now older and living in what looks like to me the same rundown house that was owned by Philip Kingsley in the first film and now redoing it with his classical pianist girlfriend in Italy and her having some knowledge of what he did in the first film.

Anyway...according to The Hollywood Reporter Television 360, Edamol Shine Studios and the original author of this series of books written by Patricia Highsmith Zurich based publisher and agency Diogenes are going to be teaming up to bring these five books to the TV screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the vision that these three have for this new TV series is to expand on both Rene Clement's 1960's feature "Purple Noon" as well as Anthony Mighella's adaption of this character,-which if you haven't read any of these books which include "The Talented Mr. Ripley", "Ripley Underground", "Ripley's Game", "The Boy Who Followed Ripley" and "Ripley Under Water", or seen the film which starred Matt Damon as Tom Ripley and Jude Law as Dickie Greenleaf and Gwyneth Paltrow as Dickie's fiancĂ© Marge and saw both Dickie and Marge living in Mongavelo in Italy where he being from a wealthy family was spending his trust fund at a rate of knots with going traveling around Italy, drinking, playing saxophone, listening and going to Jazz clubs and festivals and going every year skiing in Cortina with other trust fund school friends and his father had hired Tom to go to Italy to get Dickie to come back to America using his mother's illness as a means for Dickie to take over the family shipping company, but this then sees Tom Ripley formulating an idea to befriend Dickie Greenleaf and Marge and then steal the inheritance and kill Dickie but along the way the body count starts to pile up because suspicions start to arise and then things get complicated, this film and book "Purple Noon" according to The Hollywood Reporter was based on the first book in this series of books.

Guymon Casady from 360 Television and Ben Forkner will executive produce this TV series, Philip Keel of Diogenes will also be executive producing this and the executive vp for Edamol Shine Studios Jeremy Gold will oversee the project for the studios.

All concerned are hoping to put the property together with a writer or major filmmaker as well as an actor before shopping this to the premium cable networks or streaming services.

Gladstone may or may not get a third outing in Sherlock Holmes 3!

If your reading this headline you may or may not get this reference and you might be thinking to yourself "What The Hell! Has Sophie gone mad!?", and I would have to tell you that no I haven't gone off my rocker and that this is a reference to Guy Richie's "Sherlock Holmes" movies as I have seen both these films which starred Jude "Dave" Law and Robert Downey Jnr. as Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes as I am a huge fan of all the Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes stories with my favourite story being "The Hound Of The Baskervilles" and I have evidently my dear reader seen all adaptions of this...sorry about the pun I just couldn't help myself.

Anyhew...all actors that were in both Guy Richie's films including these two were really good but for me the star performance came from the cute bulldog named Gladstone in the first film that Sherlock had experimented on via using a new technique that made him appear dead, but in a matter of minutes he was able to jump up off the floor and walk around as if nothing had happened at all.

And in the second film I was sad to see that there wasn't more seen of this dog until the end where Dr. Watson had moved out of 221 Baker Street with his wife Mary, and was sat on the sofa in Watson's study next to Sherlock Holmes who was wearing a costume that would make him blend in with all the patterns of the sofa, chairs and wallpaper and therefore he could sneak a peak at Dr. Watson's writing of the events that happened at Reihenbach Falls in Switzerland with Professor Moriarty, at the ball where all the colleagues that work with Sherlock Holme's brother Mycroft were going to be and Moriarty had forced someone to plant a bomb there to take these people out, this someone was the brother of a gypsy which was played by Noomi Rapace and was only recognisable by a scar on his cheek, hence why she had to attend the ball with Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes.

Anyhew... Digital Spy when interviewing Jude Law on how the production for "Sherlock Holmes 3" was going they got this reply:

"...I don't know..."  He goes on to say that:

"...There is apparently still a will (to do it), there is a script being written, but I'm not sure..."

And back in 2013 it was confirmed by according to Digital Spy's website producer Dan Lee that the screenwriter for "Iron Man 3" Dan Pearce was working on a script for this, and he also said according to Digital Spy's website that "...this was a high priority for the studio..."

So will this get made or will it not get made that is the question, and will Gladstone be back to have more experimentes done on him? Will audiences see more of Irene Adler who if you're like me and saw the first film will know that she works for Moriarty or will we not see more of her?

Who can say, we will just have to wait with baited breath for more info on this.

It official I'm a sucker for Olly Mur's new video "Beautiful To Me"

I have just seen this on Digital Spy's website and just like the post says this promo video for Olly Murrs' "Beautiful To Me" has sucked me in and I find myself gasping in surprise and smiling and feeling like "Aw! that's a nice end to the story" at the end of watching this music video.

I have to say that this video is better than the video he did for his last single  "Seasons" as I got the feeling when I first saw that music video that he was trying to muscle in on Ed Sheeran's territory of doing a strictly come dancing style of dance as a way of getting a higher chart position, probably more sales of that single or of his new album "Never Been Better" or even grabbing hold of a bigger fan base as more fans might equal more buying the single, more downloads and probably more tour tickets sold including merchandise sales.

This music video obviously sees two friends realise that they are both in love with one another and I think it's fair to say that it's a better late than never situation when she is sat just about to put on her wedding dress with her hair all done up and I guess her makeup all done and then she realises that something may not be right, and he just simply rips the wedding invitation up after having a montage of flashbacks about her.

This according to DigitalSpy.com will be released as a digital download on June 15th.

And Olly Murrs fans will next see him as the new presenter "X Factor" along with Caroline Flack replacing Dermot O'Leary which will keep him busy for the rest of this year.

Chris Pine in talks to play Wonder Women love interest!

I saw this headline on  DigitalSpy's website and I have to say that this pique my interest...

as I had been reading on lots of film blogs and websites that Scott Eastwood had got the role of Steve Trevor the love interest to Wonder Women and that he would be seen in Suicide Squad but today according to Variety Magazine's website this has been given instead to Chris Pine.

According to Variety's website who have been told by insiders that Scott Eastwood was given the choice to test for the Trevor role or sign on for a guaranteed supporting part in "Suicide Squad" which he opted to take...so this would mean he's in "Suicide Squad" but just not in the role that everybody thought he would be playing so what on earth is he going to be in this film I wonder, because by now David Ayer has filled all the roles main characters and supporting cast included?

Anyhew...also according to Variety Magazine's website Warner Bros. tested a handful of other actors but later decided to look at more high-profile actors and go with a straight offer. According to Variety Magazine Chris Pine won over production executives and Wonder Women herself Gal Gadot at the meeting, leading the studio to pursue him to take the role.

Variety Magazine say that this first step into the DC Universe for Chris Pine could lead to more opportunities in the DC Justice League Universe.

NEW MUSIC ALERT: Hurts New single: Some kind of Heaven

I was just on Twitter and saw this tweet from @theohurts saying:

"Very pleased to present our new sing 'Some Kind Of Heaven'. The beginning of a bold odyssey. Enjoy..."

And here it is for you all to have a listen to:

Well I have to say that as I am an avid fan of all things Hurts I just saw this and had to have a little listen as it got me very excited to see that there was some new music from Hurts as it just seems to me that it has been ages since the band released any material, as I write this I do realise that they have been touring all over the world and have maybe been a bit busy with doing that so I am slightly surprised that they have found some time to release this new single lol!

Anyhew...I have been a fan of this band from first listening to "Wonderful Life" and I absolutely loved their first album and had this and their second album on constant repeat but I have to say that I think this song does sound different to the bands other music and I think this is a probable grower and with Theo saying this is "... a beginning of a bold odyssey..." this definitely has me interested to find out what other kinds of sounds are going to be heard from this new album.

And as I was listening I have to say that I did do what I usually do on the internet when I hear new music from bands that I am a fan of and checked the internet to see if I could find any information on this new album like I sometime go on Amazon and find that I can preorder this album or single or digital download before any details have been made official, but this time sadly I couldn't find any information on this so for now I guess I'll just have to keep checking back on Twitter like every other Hurts fan and wait for more updates from theo himself.

Shadowhunters news and then some Part 2

I thought I'd put this on as I couldn't believe I saw all these things for the Cassandra Clare 'Mortal Instruments franchise, and I think this might have tried to have been another Harry Potter franchise but you never know that these still could be good for any potential young audiences that will watch this new ABC series which I think will work better as a TV series as there are 6 books in this series of books.

According to Amazon there are:

Laurelle City of Bones The Official Angelic Power Purfume- £5.99 this is suppose to have a floral cascade of white flowers intermingled with rose. It's said to '...leave a sensual blend of sandalwood and musk infused with a light seductive vanilla base...".

Laurelle City Of Bones The Official Strength Perfume £12.00- this is suppose to have top notes of apple blossom, dewberry and raspberry, it is also said to "...as it settles a long lasting, musky peach fragrance prevails with a surprising touch of vanilla..."

And Jace's Stele with UV light and Pen £13.47 this is among many other things such as temporary tattoos etc etc.

Resident Evil 6: The Final Chapter

I came upon this on Empire's Magazine website as when I was writing the last post on here it got me thinking about what was happening on the production of this film as I saw the other day in a magazine that there was news on this movie but it was only saying about how production of this had been pushed back as Mila Jovovich was expecting her second child with director husband Paul W.S Anderson.

Anyway...according to IMDb.com this film will follow on from the events in 'Resident Evil: Retribution', but this time Project Alice is forced to race against time to fight the Red Queen who is attempting to destroy the final remnants of humanity.

Empire Magazine reported on 22nd January via a very good spot from ComingSoon.net that Jovovich took to Facebook to update many a fanboy that was waiting with baited breath:

" I'm really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child (75lbs) because I have to be ready to start filming Resident Evil :The Final Chapter in August of this year (2015)..." , "... and I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously (get ready wardrobe department for Alice's new 'easy mama access' costume so I don't want to be on any extreme diets to get ready to go back to 'action hero' model! ".

Wentworth Miller who played Chris Redfield in "Resident Evil: Afterlife" the military brother of one of the survivors of the Racoon City disaster caused by The Umbrella Corporation that was trying to find the 'safe haven' known as Arcadia that turned out to be a lie created by The Umbrella Corporation to do experiments on the people that survived, is confirmed already as returning to come back for this film which is said to be released over the pond in the USA on September 2nd 2016, but apart from this I can't find any other information.

Assasin's Creed Update!

I saw this headline on Empire Magazine's website and I have to say that I at first didn't fully read this until today...this I realise sounds bad but I did only see this headline on the magazine's website very late last night and only thought that today I was going to post about this.

Anyhew....According to Deadline Hollywood's website the Swedish actress Alicia Vikander is currently in talks to star in Assasin's Creed which I have to say is moving at a snails pace as I've been trying for ages now to find any new information out about this film that I'm so excited to hear is going to be made into a film as some of the games I've seen made into films such as 'Resident Evil', 'Prince Of Persia',-this film you may have seen was a bit bad but it is I think an alright film to watch if there's nothing on TV-, 'Hitman', 'Need For Speeed' etc are really action packed and really good films, but so far when I've been trawling the internet for this information all I keep getting is Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard are going to teaming up again for this movie that will be directed by Justin Kurzel.

But now according to Deadline Hollywood news has arrived that production for this new 'Assasin's Creed' film will start in early autumn/fall for a pencilled in release date of December 21st 2016 that will be released through 21st Century Fox. This will be co-financed according to Deadline Hollywood by Rat Pac and Alpha Pictures, with Michael Fassbender, Pat Crowley, Frank Marshall, Arnon Milchan and Conor McCaughan producing. Bill Collage, Adam Cooper and Michael Leslie writing the script for this.

Also according to Deadline Hollywood this would mean that Alicia Vikander would probably drop out of starring in 'The Circle' which would see her star alongside Tom Hanks. This film is said to be based on a Dave Egger's novel. This would have seen her play a young female employee of a technology company called The Circle get involved with a mysterious man, but according to Deadline Hollywood the female lead role for this movie has now been offered to Emma Watson who audiences are going to be seeing in the live action remake of 'Beauty and The Beast'.

And also according to Deadline Hollywood schedules will have to be rejigged somewhat as it also reports that Alicia Vikander is set to star in the new Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass's 'Bourne' film which is said to be a follow up to 'The Bourne Legacy' which starred Jeremy Renner...so I don't know how that's suppose to work as 'The Bourne Legacy' was a completely different story that did include Jason Bourne in the background but mainly followed the character Aaron Cross.

But this website does say though that Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are writing the screenplay for this along with Christopher Rouse, and both along with Gregory Goodman and Frank Marshall are said to be producing this for Universal and are said to be looking for a pencilled in release date of July 29th next year.

Dude there's a trailer for Point Break!

I just saw this now on Empire Magazine's website and I have to say when I first heard that 'Point Break' was going to be remade I was so excited as me and my sisters are such big fans of this film.

And when I heard that there was a new trailer just released for this I just had to see it, and I think if you look carefully in this trailer that will no doubt be the first in many many other things that will get released about this film, that one of the FBI agents that says something about why not deploy a parachute above the jungle looks suspiciously like the actor who played the original Roach who if you've seen the original like me then you'll know that Roach gets shot in the shoulder in the end of the film, and Bodhi takes him, Utah and himself up in an aeroplane that will take him and Bodhi over the border into Mexico and straps a parachute on him with the money from a heist they do so they can meet another of their crew Rosie and Utah has to come along to this last bank robbery 'the ex-presidents' do that Roach's younger brother gets killed in and if Bodhi and Roach don't get to the destination they need to get to over the border with Utah's help then Rosie will kill Tyler (Utah's girlfriend).

Anyhew...I digress I have to say though that this new trailer doesn't get me as excited as I hoped it would, because it looks like the film maker's have tried to make it a little bit Fast and Furious with there being a couple of clips in the trailer of this group of guys holding hands over a table much like in the first Fast and Furious film where Toretto tells O'Connor that he's carried on his dad's tradition of every Sunday after church he would put on a barbecue and if you didn't go to church you wouldn't eat and the first to eat without saying grace has to say grace at the table.

Also the filmmakers have tried to modernise this which I understand you'd do for a remake but here the filmmaker's have made Bodhi and his gang more violent than the original with saying that Utah thinks that these guys don't care how may people get hurt in the process of their heists because in the original all of the ex-presidents took guns with them on their heists but they were always filled with blanks and they'd always go for the cash not the vault as it would slow them down but it was never about stealing things it was always about creating anarchy and the ultimate adrenaline rush.

Also in this trailer it really looks like when the girl is surfing on a big wave too big for her that this has been filmed on a green screen where this is actually not happening and this effect of the big wave has been put into the movie afterwards by computers.

So I think it's fair to say that I think this film will probably be not as good as the original as this was one of the classic films that in my opinion you just don't touch like the remake of Magnificent 7.

Anyhew I digress...here is the trailer for this new Point Break starring Luke Bracey as Johnny Utah, the new Bodhi who will be played by Edgar Ramirez which will get released over here in the UK on January 8th 2016, and will get released over the pond in the USA on Christmas Day 2015 according to IMDb.com,-if this is right bloody typical that America gets everything good before we over here in the UK do!-.

Suicide Squad Behind the scenes!

You may or may not have seen these fantastic behind the scenes videos of Suicide Squad taken on the Toronto set where filming is going on right now, but I saw them last night and I have to say that these videos are a must see for any and everyone.

And I have to say that when I first saw these videos on UNILAD.com's website it got me extremely excited about the film when it get's released in UK cinemas on 5th August 2016. And I have to be honest that I did like how UNILAD.com's website has dubbed this gorgeous looking and sounding Ferrari that the Jared Leto's Joker will be driving in this film as 'The Jokermobile', and now that I think about it I am a little jealous that he will get to drive this amazing car.

Anyhew...I digress, from these 'leaked' on set videos from fans taken on the streets of Toronto finally puts to rest the rumour that I've been reading on lots of movie websites recently that Ben Affleck's Batman might be appearing in this film but only as a cameo...but I have to say that this might just be me but I'm not sure if The Joker will be laughing at the new Bat suit as I've seen the new trailer for the new 'Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice' film, and this new suit looks like to me like it's been made using the paper Mache way and then spray painted black, at least the suit in the Christopher Nolan Batman films gave the desired effect that Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne character wanted which was to look intimidating.

Anyhew... here is the link to see just some of these exciting new footage from behind the scenes of this movie:

http://www.unilad.co.uk/articles/watch-batman-chase-the-joker-in-his-batmobile-on-suicide-squad-set/

Also I have just seen on ComicBook.com's website some more exciting behind-the-scene's footage that you'll definitely want to have a butcher's at, these of course like the footage from UNILAD's website shows stuntmen clinging on to the Joker's car as there is a no doubt high octane car chase through the streets of Toronto...so in case you're wondering no actors were hurt in the making of this car chase!

And I have to say that now I've seen all of this behind the scenes footage with the Batmobile this new look car's nose looks suspiciously like the sleek black F1 designed Batmobile that was designed for the Batman: Live tour that had been designed by Mercedes McLaren Professor Gordon Murray who independently designed the Rocket, which according to ShortList.com say that is a '...ultra-lightweight, open cockpit roadster powered by a 1 lire motorcycle engine, which has an appearance similar to that of a '60's era Grand Prix car'.

But if you ask me I'd still think the Tumbler was way better, but this from the aerial shots does look more bolshier so I imagine more problems with trying to get out of the driveway.

Here is the link for you to see:

Oh dear, RiRi is in hot water!

I've just seen this on ComicBook.com and I have to say that this piqued my interest.

It would seem that RiRi has finally angered the Comic Book world after looking to me like a slutty riddler in her new music video for "Bitch Better Have My Money",- if you didn't see the similarities in this video to the infamous Batman character I'll help you out, she wears getting out of the helicopter in the video a oversized furry bright green coat, oversized bright green sunglasses, a tight black bandage dress (similar to the black question marks that the riddler wears on his bright green costume that for me was really brought to life by Jim Carey in the Tim Burton's Batman films, much like Jack Nicholson really made the Joker his own-god as I write this I feel like I could cringe all over as this phrase sounds so much like something you'd hear on "The X Factor"-, and thigh high pvc bright green stiletto heels-.

I also have to say that this song really is what Rihanna has said it is just a sample of a rap that one of her friends wrote and nothing like a song.

Anyhew...I digress according to ComicBooks.com DC Comics is trying now to stop Rihanna from filing a trademark that she did back in 2014 to use the name Robyn which she was going to use for a fashion, cosmetic franchise as well as an on-line non-downloadable general features magazine, as they DC Comics see that "Robyn" cuts too close to their "Robin".

According to ComicBook.com DC Comics see that Robyn could deceive consumers into thinking that Rihanna's product may have ties to the Boy Wonder. DC Comics also argued that "Robyn" is just trying to piggback on the iconic status of Dick Grayson's alter ego.

ComicBook.com says that if Rihanna's people can't reach an agreement with DC Comics then both parties will have to fight it out in the Trademark Office to determine if "Robyn" is too dissimilar to "Robin".

"The Shining" gets a prequel?

You may or may not have heard this but the otherday I heard someone talking about how "The Shining" was getting a sequel, and I being a huge fan of this film thought "WHAT THE FUCK! Why would anyone want to do that as the first film was sooo good you can't do that, there are some things you just don't touch things like this", and let me tell you when I first heard this news it did rile me some what and it took me a while to calm down, but thankfully I heard this all wrong and this is what is actually going to happen...there will be a prequel to "The Shining" called "The Overlook Hotel".

According to Collider.com Glen Mazzara who took over Frank Darabont as showrunner for AMC'S "The Walking Dead" before being forced out of the position through the most recent season is being "tapped" to write the screenplay for this.

Variety Magazine reported on July 18th 2014 that the draft of this new prequel will be based on Stephan King's original prologue to "The Shining" which was cut from the book's first publication in 1977, this will be an origin story of The Overlook Hotel through the eyes of it's first owner Bob T. Watson. He was a robber baron at the turn of the 20th Century, he scaled the remote peaks of The Colorado Rockies to build the grandest resort in America, a place where he and his family could call home.

Also according to Variety Magazine's website Mark Romanek is in negotiations to direct this new film for Warner Bros, with Laeta Kalogridis and JamesVanderbilt and Bradley Fischer set to produce this.

The sequel book to this amazing story of Stephan Kings' "Doctor Sleep",-which I'm starting to read and I have already started to read a couple of pages already as I'm just itching to find out what happened to Danny Torrence and Wendy after what happened at the end of "The Shining", and after reading just a few pages I'm already hooked and can't wait to read what happens next in the book- is also according to Variety Magazine's website is trying to be adapted into a film by Warner Bros.

And this leads me back to the point of why I have put a question mark in the title of this post title...I really don't know if "The Shining" needs a prequel or sequel or whatever this studio has planned for Stephan King's novel as this was in my opinion the greatest horror films,-well not really a horror film more like a thriller in my opinion in the old fashioned sense of the word along the same lines as the god that is Alfred Hitchcock as everything in this movie of Stanley Kibrick's film was more suspense driven using things such as setting of scenes such as long camera shots of corridors (I still get the hibigeebees when looking down a corridor that I have to walk down), music etc etc-, and along with other Alfred Hitchcock films these are the only scary films I can bear to watch as every film that is billed as a thriller is more a horror than a thriller and that really gets me really frustrated.

I don't know any other news apart from this, but I really don't see how you can make a prequel that's going to be as good as Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining", but I guess you can only try and make something that is still as good as that film was.

New Suicide Squad Video!

Breaking Must See Footage Live From The Set!

I was perusing my Twitter feed this morning to be pleasantly surprised to see courtesy of Nylon Magazine's website there was a video live from the Toronto set of this film of Harley Quinn and Jared Leto's the Joker:

http://www.nylon.com/articles/jared-leto-joker-video

Although you can't hear much of what's going on it looks intense and it looks like Jared Leto has definitely got how crazy the Joker is, but this just might be me but all of the online website's that I've read say that this larger than life brighter than the sun haired Leto perfectly matches the car, but it may look like it's possibly a cool badass car to match the character I can't see the front! Although it does look like to me that this could be from the side like a Ford Mustang...I'm crossing my fingers that this is what it is as I love Mustang's!...cars that is.

This according to MTV's website despite the glasses and the overall look of nothing like the other pictures that have been circulating the internet with Margot Robbie with white hair in pigtails, bleached skin, hotpants, choker, and ripped shirt with a star painted on her face this looks like Harley Quinn looked back when she was a psychologist at Arkham Asylum when she first met The Joker and was manipulated into freeing him from here, but this according to MTV was in the comics was done by herself retaliating against a co-worker as she was supposed to rehabilitate The Joker but was manipulated by him and fell in love with him, but when Harley tries to break away from The Joker he then throws her into the same vat of chemicals that he fell into, thus bleaching her skin and her hair turns a different colour and she becomes just as mentally unstable as he is.

And According to MTV in the comic books Harley Quinn wasn't even in the original Suicide Squad and they seem to ask "Could she be the lynchpin that the whole movie is based around?"

The way it looks to me is that it would strongly suggest at this point that David Ayer is doing this, but whatever is happening I can't wait to see this when this is released in the UK on 5th August 2016.

TV's ABC Familly "Shadowhunters" news...and then some part 1

You may or may not have heard yet but across the pond in the USA the TV network ABC Family have already ordered a series "Shadowhunters" that will be based on Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" six book series...yes you are reading this right there are six books to this series. This will be the network's first scripted saga to series television series.

There's already been a lot of buzz about this via MTV USA's website as it has already emerged on who will be playing which parts in this new TV series, as well as MTV USA also telling what the first episode to this new series will be called,-in case your wondering this will be called "The Mortal Cup"-.

The last time anyone tried to do anything based on this book series was the ill fated film "The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones" which featured Lily Collins as Clary Fray and Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace Lightwood the Shadowhunter (half angel half human) who slays demons.

*You might want to stop reading now as this next part contains spoilers*

I started reading this series of books as I had seen the movie and wanted to know if the ending to this film was really real or not...if you haven't seen the movie or haven't read the books and don't already know the story then I will fill in the blanks...Clary Frey is a seemingly normal 15 year old that lives with her mother Jocelyn in New York and thinks that her father died before she was born, and she has a best friend Simon who has a pretty big crush on her but she doesn't know, but one night whilst out with Simon on her birthday whilst in a nightclub called Pandamonium this life comes crashing down. She witnesses an attack in a nightclub storeroom where a handsome bluehaired boy is 'killed' and a gorgeous black haired girl sneak off to and she tells Simon to go fetch help, but nobody sees this so she apologises to the bouncer and they both leave the nightclub, and her mother then gets kidnapped she doesn't know who by but knows she has to find her, this leads her to Jace who she finds out about Shadowhunters and is introduced to other Shadowhunters Alec,-who has a pretty big crush on Jace- and his sister Isabelle they then tell her about Shadowhunters -half humans half angel-and the reason why she saw them as humans can't usually see them,- big spoiler the only reason she could see them is she must have some Shadowhunter blood in her-, this turns her whole world upside down.

Anyway...whilst at a friend of Simon's from his band Eric's poetry reading she sees Jace and receives a frantic call from her mum telling her to find Luke and to tell him that he has come back, so she and Jace rush through a portal to Luke's bookshop and find him being interrogated by Blackwell and Pagborne two of Valentine's follower's from the Circle,-The Circle was a group of Shadowhunters including Jocelyn, Luke, Valentine, Stephan Herondale, Luke's sister, Stephan's second wife as well as Pagborne and Blackwell, these were very loyal 'friends' of Valentine who did a lot of evil things such as he told his wife Clary's mother that her son Jonathan was dead when he wasn't, made Stephan Herondale give up his first wife and marry another women then he had been giving this second women small doses of demon blood while she was pregnant and as she died he got the child out and he got another one of his followers Hodge to look after him and put him in one of the many Shadowhunter Institutes around the world under the care of The Lightwoods,-this was Jace-, and he then raised his own son Jonathan using the same method in the hope that he would destroy Alicante from the inside and he would become the strongest Shadowhunter, and he also destroyed his wife's family estate whilst her parents were inside, he got an angel trying to make more Shadowhunters by torturing it for its blood ets, the Circle also killed all Shadowhunters and on the same night as this war Jocelyn managed to get away from Valentine with Clary and The Mortal Cup which is also the name of the first episode, and out of spite for this he burned her family estate-.

Moving on, Clary overhears Luke say that he doesn't know where the Mortal Cup is as if he would do you think he would have anything to do with Jocelyn or her brat thus this leaves Clary devastated as she has known Luke her whole life and can't believe he would say such a thing, Clary even though she's devastated asks Jace to help Luke, then Simon, Jace and her go back to the Institute where she is told that she has a block on her mind that allows her from seeing the Shadow World and this leads to Jace getting the Silent Brothers to help remove this block but they can't only the one that put it there can but when they go to a party at Magnus Bane's house (the high warlock of Brooklyn) where they meet a lot of vampire's who have vampire motorbikes parked outside-these aren't supposed to be allowed-, anyway Simon gets turned into a rat and has to saved from the vampires that hold him at the DuMont hotel lead by Rafael and here they find out that Bane can't even lift this as it only worked on her and with time it should go on it's own, but Luke from the other night has been following Clary but as a werewolf, and him and his pack help the shadowhunters fend off the rest of the vampires, then after Simons is made into a human again Clary and Simon hug which seems to upset Jace.

This is when Alec tells Clary to leave the Institute as she shouldn't be the one to encourage Jace to save the whole world.

Clary deduces that The Mortal Cup is in one of Madame Dorothea's,-this is a tarot card reader mystic who lives downstairs from her and her mother,- tarot cards that her mother gave to her as a present and takes Jace with her to retrieve this and as they're there Madame Dorothea is there but has been possessed by a demon so a fight ensues, and then both Clary and Jace return to the Institute where Hodge who has appeared up until now to be a good guy turns bad by giving Valentine the Mortal Cup as well as an unconscious Jace, here Valentine tells both Clary and Jace the lie that they are related so that he gets them to do his bidding.

Clary runs after Hodge who has run from the Institute attacks her but is helped by werewolf Luke and he takes her to his packs garage to see the rest of the pack so they could devize a plan to get Jace back as well as get Valentine, then they realise that Valentine must be hold up at Blackwell Island and there they go to get Jace back but it's also here where Valentine has been keeping Jocelyn in a coma, and here is where Jace says that while he has been here he has heard Valentine say how he misses his life with Jocelyn and he was sorry what he did etc etc.

*It's ok now you can look now!*

I do realise that I might have gone on just a little bit too much about this first book in this sixtology,-not really sure if this is a thing but it should be as this series of books has six in it not really three like a trilogy-, and I do realise that I might have prattled on a bit longer in this summary of this first book way more than a summary should be but I think you really should give these books a whorl if you haven't read them yet...but be ready to take a lot of time put aside so as to read all of these books so you know what's going down in this story.

I have to say though that I agree that this probably works better as a TV series than as just one book as the last film was badly marked as the next Twilight film when I've heard that there are a lot of readers of these books in their 20's onwards.

Anyhew...the cast for this has been set as:

  • British born Dominic Sherwood who you may or may not recognise from Taylor Swift's "Style' music video, he will play Jace Wayland/Heronndale.
  • Harry Shun Jnr. who you may or may not recognise from "Glee" will play Magnus Bane.
  • Alan Van Sprang will play Valentine
  • Katherine McNamara will play Clary
  • Alberto Rosende will play Simon
  • Emeraude Toubia Isabelle Lightwood
  • Matthew Daddario will play Alec Lightwood
  • Maxim Roy will play Jocelyn
  • Isaiah Mustafa will play Luke Garroway
According to TMI SOURCE and a post dated 18th May filming for this new ABC Family series "Shadowhunters" is only one week away in Toronto and that this will premiere on the TV channel early 2016.

Hold the bus...Underworld 5 is going to happen!

I know I have seem to have been a bit absent of late on here, I apologise for this. I have just read this news on ComingSoon.net's Facebook page and I don't know what to make of it....thoughts on a postcard or just leave them as a comment below.

According to The Hollywood Reporter who reported this yesterday, that Kate Beckinsale has signed on to reprise her role as Selene in this fifth instalment of Lakeshore Entertainment and Screen Gems film franchise.

Also according to The Hollywood Reporter Theo James who was in the last Underworld 3D film who starred as vampire David who helped Selene and her daughter escape intergen labs who were "trying" to find a cure for vampires,-but if your a fan of these films like me you'll know that the head of these labs was a werewolf and that he just wanted vampires out with the werewolves coming out on top- during the purge as of  the war between lycans and vampires had spilled out onto the streets and was involving humans, and also wanted to leave his coven after both Selene and David's father played by Charles Dance found out that the child was a hybrid-both vampire and lycan/werewolf-.

Anna Foerster will direct, she has previously been director of photography for "The Day After Tomorrow" this was the film with Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllanhaal having to unfreeze New York after global warming changes the earth dramatically with causing massive changes in temperature and "Whitehouse Down" this was the film which starred Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx with Channing Tatum having to protect the president from a paramilitary group as well as saving his daughter as IMDb puts it.

Corey Goodman wrote the script for this one although according to The Hollywood reporter the details for this are being a very closely guarded thing although what The Hollywood Reporter did manage to gleam from this was that the plot for this is said to focus on a younger generation of werewolves and vampires who are seemingly locked in a never ending battle between supernatural forces...so this sounds like to me that the writers for this next film aren't going to run with the set up storyline from the last film which was that Michael was alive going against what we the audience thought at the beginning of "Underworld: Awakening", and that he was the father to Selene's daughter and that they were going to find him as he had run off at the end of this film and as well at the end of this film Selene said in a voice over that vampires were going to rise again.

Now that I think about it, if Theo James is going to be reprising his role from the last film as part of a option agreement could that mean that Scott Speedman who played Michael in three of these films: "Underworld", "Underworld: Evolution" and briefly in "Underworld: Awakening" could come back to reprise his role?

Filming for Underworld 5 will start this October in Prague.
