Stone the Crows...Hugh Grant has a movie!

I know that this piece of news was reported on the 13th September by Empire Magazine but I am still very much surprised that Hugh Grant after what seems like having years of panned movies such as:

  • American Dreamz
  • Have You Heard About The Morgans?
But Hugh has managed to score himself an actual role in an independently financed movie that is based on David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas. And suprisingly there will be other big names in this such as:

  • Halle Berry
  • Tom Hanks
  • Jim Broadbent
  • Hugo Weaving
  • Jim Sturgess
  • Ben Whishaw
  • Keith David
  • David Gyas
  • Susan Sarandon
  • Zhou Xun
  • Doona Bae
David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas is a complicated novel that has an interlinking narrative that focuses on one soul through several centuries starting from 19th Century boat journeys to a post apocolypic future across the Pacific and in Hawaii.

The Wakowski brothers along with Tom Tykwer are said by Empire to be attached to this project as directors but also they have been reported as the ones that wrote the adaption of this novel.

Glasgow will be one of the locations for this film and at the end of this week (the 16th in case you are wondering). A final release date hasn't been pencilled in but it is proposed to come to cinemas in late 2012.

This role will also be another period film so this should be relatively safe ground for Hugh as 'Sense and Sensibility' was better than his performances in the above so called movies.

There will be another Resident Evil

Yesterday Deadline New York have reported that Screen Gems and Constatin Films have teamed up and have already cast Resident Evil 5.

This is for me who hasn't seen all the Resident Evil set of films but I loved the first film but I did like the second eventhough there were some critics saying that it wasn't as good as the first one, and I do have to agree with this critique of the second film but it is still watchable and enjoyable.

But thankfully Milla Jovovich will return as Alice, ... so I have to say that for me this is good news as this was really her part and I think that if someone new came in and played the part of Alice it would be not as good and  there have already been so many Resident Evil movies with her in it wouldn't make sense to recast her part (this is I think where the Twilight set of films went wrong as they recast Rachelle Lefevre who played Victoria and she was so good in that part).

Anyhew... Paul W.S Anderson is going to be directing this, and he also wrote the script for this. Jeremy Bolt , Robert Kulzer, Don Carmody and Samuel Hadida will produce this.

So far the cast is Michelle Rodriguez will be back as if you have seen the first film like me she was in this as part of the group of police that is sent into the hive once Mary (the computer system that the Umbrella Corporation have to monitor the security of their labs shuts itself down and looks like it is attacking itself but it is actually trying to make the zombies that it has created in so as not to get out and harm anyone, then as the team are getting out an escaped scientifically created dog with higher sets of scences and with a tongue that whips around to create other scientific zombies and vampires attacks her on the hives bullet train and makes her a zombie).

Anyhew...other members of the cast are Johann Urb, Boris Kodjoe, Shawn Roberts, Sienna Guilloroy, Oded Fehr and Kevin Durand. Johann Urb will play a leader of a resistance group who teams up with Alice in order to take down The Umbrella Corporation as well as the growing number of the undead.

So...with this story line it sounds as if this sounds like the film makers have taken elements from the second Resident Evil film as I seem to remember that Alice and some police that have been told to go into Racoon City that has been affected by the Umberella Corporation T Virus and find any survivors as along with the daughter of the Professor who has created the virus who has been said as missing, but instead they find the whole of the city are now zombies and they find out about Alice and what The Umberella Corporation has done.

So until more info is out there I'll be waiting with baited breath as this has already wetted my appetite for seeing this in the cinema, and if this film does what the new Riddick film is going to do which is go back to the Pitch Black film and take elements from this and make this new film....and goes back to the first film then I am sure that this film will be as good and as big a thriller as the first one was.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry...there making another Wanted!

Thanks to Empire Magazine and the Wrap for bringing this to my attention but I really didn't understand at first why they were making another Wanted film as I saw the first Wanted film and to be honest it was horrendous especially the end of the film with the scene involving all the rats blowing up...making James McAvoy look like The Piped Piper has become a terrrorist after getting bored with using his pipe.

Universal Studios have rehired Michael Brandt and Derek Haas to write (and bare in mind this is only at the writing stage thank goodness) Wanted 2.

But knowing that the first film stumped up $341m worldwide on a budget of $75m it's not hard to see why Universal Studios want to put this set of films back on the map. The storyline will apparently pick up a couple of years after the events that the last film finished on.

There is no director yet attached but Derek Haas has tweeted that he would love to work with Timur Berkmambetov who directed the first Wanted film but knowing what Brandt and Haas have already worked on together I can see why Universal wanted them to write this sequel.

They have wrote '2 Fast 2 Furious', '3:10 To Yuma' and of course the original 'Wanted' film.

For me to be one of the many cinemagoers that see this next Wanted film there has to be an incredible director attached to this as well as the cast list has to be to a high standard i.e the cast have to have a few names to entice not just me but other cinemagoers if Universal want to hit or break its last worldwide figures.

Depp Alert!

Yesterday while perusing Empire Magazine's website I saw the first couple of pics from Johnny Depp's and Tim Burton's new collaborative effort Dark Shadows

From these pictures its clear to see that this looks like it will be hopefully another Burton and Depp masterpiece or at least another Sleepy Hollow which in my eyes was the best or one of the best apart from Sweeney Todd. But if your like me and the rest of the world apparently and you don't know the story of Dark Shadows then here is the low down:

  • Barnabas Collins ( played by Johnny Depp) gets turned into a vampire by his jilted lover Angelique ( played by Eva Green, who you'll no doubtedly recognise from James Bond:Casino Royal or from Kingdom of Heaven) way back in the 1700s and then buried.
  • Then Barnabas gets dug up and try's to reintergrate with his descendants led by Elizabeth ( played by Michelle Pfeifer) and Roger (Johnny Lee Miller who has just recently been in Danny Boyle's stage production of Frankenstein)
  • But as you can imagine with Angelique still around she's not in a very forgiving mood.
These pictures also show in my opinion the ever changing faces of Johnny Depp as well as how it in my opinion Johnny Depp is a great actor his is as it shows that he will literally throw himself into any role he's in, but I do have to say that I wouldn't have put Depp down for playing a vampire role.

Richard Zanuck is producing this and Seth Graham Smith is adapting this TV series to film and luckily this will be a 2D film as opposed to a 3D film. Richard Zanuck explained to Empire Magazine why this is saying that:

'...We didn't want to be catagorised as another 3D exstravaganza, because this isn't. We have action sequences, but mostly it's interaction between characters, and that's where the humour and the story come from...'

This will be coming to a cinema near you on May 11th, 2012. So I guess I'll have to hold my excitement till then.

Catwomen's costume...meow!

Thanks to Empire Magazine and the media there is now pictures circulating the web showing the full costume of Catwomen/Selena Kyle

I can see what they've done here... because she is catwomen the costume they've put Anne Hathaway in is a  black leather catsuite. How funny! But I don't really understand why though the ears have been done in the form of styling her hair into two points on the back of her head, but I just thought that it was probably for the best that Anne Hathaway's hair was styled like this as opposed to Michelle Pfeifer's head gear plus cat ears in the Tim Burtonesque film with Christopher Walken film.

But if your not a Bat fanatic like me you'll probably not be familiar to this film so in this case I'll familiarise you, in this film Christopher Walken  is the boss of Michelle Pfiefer and when she starts asking questions about some things he throws her out of a window and then after cats have bitten her she goes home and starts making her own catsuit out of PVC with lots of stitching on show, then she starts helping but one night after saving a women from being mugged she unleashes her claws on her and starts scratching her.

This looks exciting...but I have to say that any little bit of info or image to do with Christopher Nolan's last outing as the director on this new and exciting series of films, is exciting. But I have to say that my excitement for the film coming out next year on July 20th is growing thanks to how ITV2 and ITV4 are playing everything to do with Batman, this includes all the films from every single director and all the episodes from the TV series. These include:

  • Batman Forever ( This one had Jack Nicholson in as the Joker)
  • Batman and Robin (George Clooney was Batman in this)
  • Batman and the Penguin
  • I can't remember but there was a Batman film with Val Kilmer in and Nicole Kiddman

Most Ridonculous story I have heard today

Thanks to Vulture blog, I was perusing this blog looking for some news that I'd seen yesterday about the new Star Trek movie, when I saw that Disney want to make a 'Pandora' style ride at Disney Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida.

According to the Los Angeles Times Walt Disney have struck a multi-million deal to bring the world of Avatar to life in the form of a ride, and James Cameron and his production partner Jon Landau (who you'll no doubtedly be familiar as the man behind the legendary Michael Jackson Thriller, I know this gets said a lot but I still think that he did an awesome job on this music video).

Anyhew...these two will work with Walt Disney Imagineering (i.e the image consultants or in layman's terms these are the people who make the rides set art look like its just sprung out of the film or wherever and onto a rollercoster ride or on the sets of films these are the set artists that make things look great), as creative consultants, these and the Imagineering team will bring the fictional world of Pandora and the other parts of its world to the Walt Disney theme parks.

This has been planned to appear at Animal Kingdom, the newest in the city sized Walt Disney theme parks in Orlando, Florida for 2013. And as you can imagine James Cameron has said that he is:

'...chomping at the bit to start work with Disney's legendary Imagineers to bring our AVATAR universe to life,'

James Cameron has even gone so far as to say that:

'Our goal is to go beyond current boundaries of technical innovation and experiential storytelling, and give park goers the chance to see, hear, and touch the world of AVATAR with an unprecedented sense of reality.'

This deal would see Walt Disney Studios exclusive global theme park rights to this franchise, that's not bad considering the first film set the box office alight with its $2.8m in worldwide ticket sales.

Fox Filmed co-chairman Jim Gianopulos has commented on this (this is only natural for him to comment on this...well I say natural because they put up the money to finance the movie, distributed and marketed the blue smurf humans,- which if your not in the loop already then you don't know that there are two other parts to this weird and 'wonderful' pandora world- and whenever there's someone or something new that an actor or actress is doing there will enevitably be an interview with the actresses or actors that they acted alongside before...but in this case its a movie)

He has said about this that:

'...It lends itself very well, not only to subsequent films, but to be imagined and realized in the parks," Gianopulos said. 'Yes, it's creative content. But what it really is is an immersive world. And that's what Disney intends to create.'

Also Walt Disney are thinking of expanding its Hong Kong park by adding a Toy Story Land, remaking a Fantasyland in Orlando, as well as thinking of putting a 13 acre Cars Land attraction in the Disney California Adventure park in Anaheim.

As I didn't go to see this movie because I didn't see the point or didn't really get the obsession with these smurf humans (I call the na'avi people this because I have just thought that they do look like smurfs but just brought into the 21st Century as they walk and talk like people but don't have noses or those white smurf hats on). I still don't get how you can actually make a rollercoster ride out of this as I don't really see how this ride will be exciting or will give you the thrill factor that is the point of going on sooo many roller coster rides is....but I guess after one ride as I would imagine that people go on the ride at first to see what its all about therefore it will enevitably have a novelty to it but after that I guess this will ware off...

but saying this I thought that the Harry Potter ride had a novelty factor and then people would get bored with  it but that ride still manages to pull in the crowds.

Postman Pat and his black and white cat...are coming to cinemas

Thanks to Empire Magazine and The Hollywood Reporter I have learnt the fabulous (well I think it's fabulous news) and I'm so excited to hear this as Postman Pat and his black and white cat are coming to cinema screens in 3D, and the release for this exciting piece of news has been pencilled in for Spring 2013.

The cast for this Postman Pat The Movie: You Know Your The One has been so far set as Rupert Grint and I can guess what character he'll be voicing...if you haven't seen the TV series then you'll not get this but if you have then you'll know which character I'm talking about,...it was sooo long ago the TV series but there was a ginger teenager who was always on his skateboard and causing his elderly mother agro...I just remembered he also wore glasses so you could say if this is the character he is voicing then it could be suggested that he is letting out his inner 'I always wanted to wear the Harry Potter specs!' anguish...Harry envy I think I'll give the name to it.

Jim Broadbent, David Tennant and Stephan Mangan. This will be a collaborative effort from Classic Media and  Rubicon Group Holding that's going to be done as part of Pat's 30th birthday celebrations. Mangan will voice Pat in a plot line that to me sounds very unreal, as the story makes Pat seem like a fallen postie. As the story shows Pat falling into the clutches of what money can do to a person or a postie in this case, wearing a new suite as he goes into a national TV talent show that threatens to take him away from Greendale.

This to me as I've mentioned before makes Pat sound like a joke as it will show Pat falling into the temptations of money, why not make him a drug addled postie...I mean if he falls into the temptations of money why not make it a really shocking movie, it just sounds to me unreal as Postman Pat was a children's character and I can't imagine him getting all nasty because of money and if he is threatening to leave Greendale then what will become of Jess!?

I guess the possibilities are endless for where this story will lead to

Carling Refreshed advert song

Sorry if this post seems a bit shorter than the norm, but I'll give you a word of advise never put anything on a blog when your really tired and not really concentrating on what your writing therefore you could be posting any old shit that doesn't really make any sense.

Anyhew...After several weeks of seeing thee new Carling Refreshed advert where the guy is on the train daydreaming, I'd heard the music in the background of this advert and it always annoyed me that I didn't know who was singing the song but last night I saw this advert again and I thought enough was enough and went looking for this song via the wonderful thing that is the world wide web.

Well...thanks to Youtube I found out that it was Alice Gold covering Billy Fury's 1960's song 'Wonderous Place'. I like this song and how she's covered this song as I'd had a little listen of the original version this morning, and I have to say that I think her updated version is really good, and she's not done too much to change it that could make this sound like a really bad cover version, i.e she hasn't put a dance track on the back of this as there are a lot more dance records out there at the moment...but just thinking about it if she put a dance record behind this and remixed it then it would make it sound stupid.

This cover version that she's done I really like as I like the build up to this record, and I love her voice it sounds so gravelly and raw and this gives the song a different quality to it, as well as edgyness which I imagine knowing that the song is a Billy Fury song it's was probably a bit hard to do this to one of his records. Also I do have to say that before I found out who sung this cover I thought that it was a KT Tunstall track, which if you ask me I don't really like her music now but when her debut album came out I really liked it how it sounded and how it was just her and her guitar which sounded really good, but I have to say that now I just don't think her music is as good.

I thought that this song was KT Tunstall's as it does sound like her song ' The Big Black Horse And The Cherry Tree'.

Here is a link to Alice Gold's album Seven Rainbows which you can have a little listen to or buy if you like from itunes. Also if you go to her official website there is a free download that you can get if you are interested.

Hope you enjoy this song as much as I do and hopefully.

One Night Only song for the cocola ad

Thanks to Youtube I have finally found the song that has been plaguing me every time I see the new Coke advert...the one where it is looking for people to carry the Cornetto shaped Olympic torch for the Olypics.

The song I have found out is as I thought by One Night Only 'Can You Feel It'. Here is the lyrics that I've managed to find on Youtube:

I hope you like the song...I quite like it, it does sound like to me though their song ' Just For Tonight', but the only thing that is added to this song though is the 'Oh...Oh...Oh'. I do have to say though that I wonder what they've been doing in all the time from when all the hype about them came around from all the radio shows playing their music.

Also I hate to say this but I think when when George the lead singer was supposedly dating Emma Watson it again bolsted their popularity, but if I remember correctly a couple of months back I bought a fashion magazine (I can't remember the name of it) because my sisters who distribute MOR Cosmetics in the UK had some of these products in the magazine, but I happened to see a burberry advert and I recognised George from the band in the advert.

Also out of interest I have just seen that you can get on Amazon.com One Night Only Audio CD and you can download the MP3 version of this but if you want to get this for £6.38. This though has been going quick so if you want this then you better get in quick.

The track listing for this is:

  1. Say You Don't Want It
  2. Bring Me Back Down
  3. Forget My Name
  4. Chemistry
  5. Never Be The Same
  6. All The Same
  7. Got It All Wrong
  8. Anything
  9. Nothing Left
  10. Feeling Fine
  11. Can't Stop Now
If you want to listen to these tracks to see what you think or just to have a little gander at them before you want to buy this then here is the link below:

Finally there is a real Twilight trailer

This has now gone out into the web universe and there was a snippet of it played on Channel 5 last night but as I have now found out this channel could have shown a snippet of it as the full length version of this trailer is 1 minuite 27 secs.

I just thought that this movie being split into two parts is in my mind a very wise decision as I have read all the books and the last one if anyone hasn't read it it's a monster of a book and it probably is the same size as the last Harry Potter book but unlike that this has been split into several books such as Bella's book, and if I can remember rightly as it seems like a while ago that I read this series of books Jacob's book and there is a little bit of Edward's book but I hope that they in the film have kept the cool cars that are in the book...like the bullet proof and terrorist proof BMW that Bella gets pre-wedding, The Ferrari post- wedding and the Aston Martin that Edward gets Jacob as a thank you present.

I just thought that if you haven't read the book then these details are probably giving some details away but as is the case in many other adapted films that I have seen some details like these are sometimes thrown out and other more theatrical scenes are put into the movie. So this could or could not spoiling anything and if this is the case then I have not offended anyone especially the Twi-hards and thinking about them I don't think anyone need or wants to offend them as they are a crazy bunch of Twilight fans.

Enjoy and just in case you are unsure of when it's coming out it's November 18th. This is Part I.

Matt Cardle's new album

Speaking of X Factor I heard thanks to ITV2'S Entertainment news FYI Matt Cardle is releasing his new album 'Letters'

Also thanks to MTVUK this album will be released on 17th October. And by all accounts this new album of his is going to be like Marmalade...i.e there will definitly be a mixed response but according to Guy Chambers who you'll recognise from his work with Robbie Williams on his all time hit of 'Angels'

'It's very accessible but its also very powerful and emotive. He's got some really good tracks and he's a very nice guy. I've enjoyed working with him'.

And also he has collaborated on this album with Eg White who has also worked with Adele on the album track 'All For Nothing'.

But I don't know whether this is a good thing or not as the papers have gone on to compare Matt's voice with Chris Martin...this if you think about it as Coldply in the early years of their career if you ask me were amazing and I used to love them but now my enthusiasm for them has wained, but Chris Martin's voice is good. They (the newspapers) have gone so far as to compare his voice with Chris Martin's by describing his voice as 'stunning'.

This though has only been done as apparently on the album track 'Letters' is reminiscent of Coldplays 'Fix You'.

Also Guy Chambers has even gone further as he has described Matt Cardle's voice as:

'...a cross between Coldplay, Travis and Snow Patrol...'

This in my book is certainly a very wide spectrum of artists as I have to say that out of all those artists I find it very hard to beleieve that he sounds like Snow Patrol as I don't think that you could ever find another talented artist like them again...this also is probably why I so harshly criticise Leona Lewis as I hated how she toured everywhere with their song but slowed down and every radio station and even her made out that her version of Run was her song when it so blatentadly wasn't as Snow Patrol had already made it the brilliantly and even legendary song.

So for now I am very dubious about this album from him and I guess I'll just have to listen to one song from him then like so many other artists that I am now fans of if this debut song from him isn't fantastic then this is ine person that won't be a fan of his.

Leona Lewis new video

Yesterday after work I managed to have a little look at the hotly anticipated music video (only hotly anticipated though by the newspapers) Leona Lewis's new music video 'Collide'. I thought with all the talk about it that it would be quite good with how I've seen some snap shots of it and it looked like it might have been quite entertaining to film as it looked like she and a group of friends go down to the beach but this when I actually saw it was a very mild disappointment.

Here it is below if you want to have a little perusal of it:

This might be a mildly bit too critical of me but I think that the song it hugelly annoying as it got stuck in my head for quite a long time after I saw the video...but I think that it is very catchy but there is a bit in the middle of the song that you can tell has been deliberatly done as sort of a X Factor style 'oh my god she's fabulous' kind of moment I think it is as in the middle of the song she sings 'Crash into me/At Full Speed'

If your not sure what I mean when I say X Factor style moment you normally see it sometimes after you have a girl/boy that has come on to the show with a sob story about how their doing this for their mother or their father or their aunty and then their singing and all of a sudden they do a really long belting part of the song their singing and that sometimes sways the judges to stand up and say 'oh my god you were fantastic your through' but you know apart from that one note of the song you wonder why they have actually got through.

Well this is definitly the case...and I do have so say I got a bit bored of the reversal of things happeneing in the video so after about several minuites I had to change the music channel. Sorry if this offends any Leona Lewis fans but this is what I think of it and I'm only being honest.

But I was happy to hear that she had collaborated on this track with a Swedish DJ and the dance track on the back of this track is pretty good. I was pretty happy about this as I do love all things Swedish especially as my sisters have started distributing in the UK and Europe Swedens no.1 haircare SACHAJUAN Haircare and SACHAJUAN is going to be at an event with other cutting edge Swedish designers at the Swedish Design Goes London.

Creature..white alligators are real!

I Am Rogue have the trailer to a new Fred M. Andrews thriller called 'Creature' that's set for release on September 9th 2011.

The story behind this is that an ex-Navy Seal Niles (Mehcad Brookes, you'll probably recognize him from True Blood as the guy who went out with Sooki's best friend when she was friends with the shape shifter who I think if I can remember rightly...-don't quote me on this as I've not watched True Blood for a while- was waiting for the devil to come to earth)

Anyhew...Niles takes his girlfriend Emily who will be played by Serinda Swan and his friends out on a roadtrip to New Orleans...here's where the spooky comes into the film because as you can imagine they stop at  petrol station on their way there and the desk clerk Chopper (Sid Haig) tells them about this local ghost story 'Lockjaw'.

It's said that Lock Jaw was once an inbred man named Grimley and that one night he lost his family who were attacked by a white alligator and that he transformed into this creature after the loss of his family drove him to maddness.

And...as you can imagine this gets the group into wanting to find this thing so they go deep into the swamps to find the hiding place of this creature, cue the dum duh-duh music....

And as the group do this they find an old cabin and unleash the beast and as you can probably guess the rest of this story it probably starts picking them off one by one...still the most obvious ways to give a fright to the audience are always the best ways to frighten audiences.

Not very original in my book. Still if you want a gander at the trailer here it is below

I do have to say though that when I first read on I Am Rogue's website about this I wasn't sure if white alligators were real, I thought that as this was a made up ghost story that these were just part of the tale, but to my surprise these are very real things but they're not called white alligators. Here is a picture of these white alligators:

As I've mentioned before these are real but their called leucistic allegators, these are extremely rare and impossible to find in the wild. All the pigment genes not just melanin (the gene that makes you tanned) are defective and therefore they appear to be white with only blue eyes. And because of this they are extremely venerable from predators and the sun so they can only survive in captivity.

The Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans has these alligators which were found in Louisiana swamps in 1987.

Bodhi's back!...Thank goodness

You've probably or probably not heard by now that Point Break has been scheduled to come back to cinema screens.

If you are like me and are a huge fan of this not merely because of the huge waves that this gang of lawbreakers surf, or the ways in which Bodhi and his friends keep seeking the rush of adrenaline either by throwing themselves out of aeroplanes, robbing banks,  or surfing the hundred year storm.

Then you'll just be as excited as I am about this news...

Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment want to revive this great film and bring it to today's audiences, but with all good news there has to be some bad that comes with it and unfortunatly this bad news comes in the form of Katherine Bigalow who directed the original and Gary Busey (well mainly Busey will not be on this project)

Executive producers have already been chosen for this job and these will be as I Am Rogue has it:

'...RGM Media principal Devesh Chetty and investor John McMurrick, Chairman of Marloss Entertainment, will serve as Executive Producers...'

Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove the founders of Alcon Entertainment along with Michael DeLuca, John Baldecchi, Chris Taylor and Kurt Wimmer (Wimmer also wrote the screenplay for this) will be producing this new revitalized Point Break.

Also in the same press release for this new project it is said that it will hopefully pitched to directors soon.

Alcon Entertainment have not only bought the rights for Point Break so that they can make this remake that they bought the week of the 20th anniversary of the original Point Break film but they've also managed to get gaming and television rights to it.

Also this same press release mentions that:

'The new version is set in the world of international extreme sports, and like the original involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring, but plot points beyond that have not been revealed by the filmmakers...'

Apart from this there is not much known...but still even with this little infornmation I can't wait to see what this new version will look like or what the story will be or even who will be in it.

Maverick and the Iceman cometh!

I heard through the greastness that is I Am Rogue when they were at this years Comic Con in San Diego that there were rumours going around thanks to the likes of Val Kilmer letting slip in an interview with I Am Rogue that he and Tom Cruise were wanted to come back to their legendary roles as Maverick and Iceman in a new rebooted version of Top Gun.

However, I do have to admit that a couple of weeks after I heard this cool piece of news..-.well I after I'd heard about this I did get 'Highway to the Danger Zone' stuck in my head for the whole day which was annoying-, that Tom Cruise had said no and that now his role is just merely a cameo role, but this is only the beginning of this good piece of news.

Through Legend3D are converting Top Gun to 3D for Paramount Studios and as of Monday at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam Legend3D showcased a four minute aerial pursuit with 'Highway To The Danger Zone' in the background in 3D.

This brand spanking new 3D version of this now legendary film has been penciled in for early 2012.

CEO of Legend3D Rob Hummel said about this as he understands it:

'...they (Paramount Studios) are planning to release it in 3D in early 2012, though I know they want to get Tony Scott's approval before they go forward...'

Also I just thought that why this oldy but a kind of guilty pleasure is rearing its head and being turned into a shiny new 3D film for 2012...and this is very obvious when you have the knowledge that Legend3D were behind the conversion of many other films to 3D that have had big build ups such as:

  • Conan the Barbarian
  • The Smurfs
  • Priest
  • Pirates of the Caribbean:On Stranger Tides
  • Alice in Wonderland (although this film may have obviously got a big hype about it as of Johnny Depp being attached to it as well as Tim Burton directing this film)
  • Shrek 1-3

And coupled with this and the fact that some of the movies that had reared their heads onto the 21st Century cinema screen have had very good feedback from cinema going audiences and this has been transferred into as Les Grossman would say '...lots and lots of money...' (minus the G5!)

My Chemical Romance drummer caught stealing!

This if you ask me is the dumbest thing to ever get caught doing as not only did the band catch him stealing but he was stealing from the band...Rolling Stone don't have all the details as yet about this but all they did find out was that the band haven't pressed charges but have dealt with the matter by firing him and replacing him with Jarrod Alexander of Dead Country.

However, the announcement that is on their official website states that:

'...The relationship between My Chemical Romance and Michael Pedicone is over. He was caught red handed stealing from the band and confessed to police....We are heartbroken and sick to our stomachs over this entire situation. The band has no intention of pressing charges or taking this matter any further than we have to...'

This to me sounds very sad as just the other night I was watching the BBC three's highlights of their performance at the Reading festival and they including the drummer were amazing along with other great bands who were on the line up for Reading, such as my favorite band Muse who made me love all their songs all the more and I loved their new pirotechnicks that they used but in the interview they gave before their performance I don't think I would have liked to be on the front row at the Leeds festival where they had their first run out of these new gadgets and gizmos.

But it was very nice to see MCR finish off their set with fireworks...I do have to admit that when I was one of the very lucky people to get tickets for Kings Of Leon performing in Hyde Park they finished off their humungus set with a good fireworks display...in true Dorset twang I's Do Like's A Good Fireworks Display! lol!

FreeSol new to Tennman record label

Part of this Rolling Stone news was written up in the Daily Star Newspaper on the 1st September, but they have only partially written this story.

On the 31st August Justin Timberlake gave a suprise performance at Southern Hospitality a New York based barbecue restaurant which he partly ownes, but at this surprise perforkance he introduced FreeSol a new band that he has signed to his Tennman record label that is distributed by Interscope Records.

These were signed in 2007 and the members of this band are:

  • MC Chris Anderson
  • Elliott Ives (guitarist)
  • Teddy (drummer)
  • DJ Charlie White
  • 'Premo' D'Anger (pianist)
The groups first single 'Don't Give It Away' was used in an episode of Entorage on HBO over in America. And Justin Timberlake has described them as:

"...I would describe their sound as a fusion of rock, hip-hop, rhythm and blues, and soul...."

So we'll have to watch this space to see what they're like but Rolling Stone did mention that they are influenced by everything from Tthree 6 Mafia to Isaac Hayes.

Nicole Scherzinger new song

The other day when I wasn't very well I saw this on the music channels and I have to say that I thought this was a lot of hairography going on and it wasn't to my mind as catchy as some of her other songs such as ' You Can't Touch Me Now' or ' Keep It Right There'.

But here it is:

And to be honest I did just think this video was bordering on porn and that to be honest that with all the hair being thrown around and her rolling all over the floor that she didn't really need to do that...but I know that the song had a lyric in it with regarding 'I Like It When The Beat Sweats Down My Back' or something like that there needed to be an element of raunchiness in the video as the lyrics to the song are raunchy...but was it really necessary to in every five seconds of the choreography have Nicole Sherzinger throw her hair all over her face?

Also I found Beyonce's new song 1+1 and this is just as ridiculous to me as this just sounds like her last single...but here is the video if you want to have a watch:

Well this did give me a little bit of a headache as the video is filmed like a collidascope which as music video's go is a little bit different, and I do have to say as I've seen her other videos this is more minimalist as this just shows her 'singing' (but I just thought that I might be giving the game away when I'm about to say what I'm about to say so this for some might come as a shock so if you don't want to hear this then avert your eyes now...but if you do then I'll share this little secret with you, when artist film their music videos they are in fact miming and are 'lipsinking' in time to the tape that the record has been recorded on, this is done so any dancing or action in the video can be done).

But I did think this song was also a mixture of other songs that I had heard such as 'I'll Make Love To You Like You Want Me To' or that could just be me thinking of that song every time that that lyric came up in the song, and the other song that it reminded me of was of a Bon Jovi song.

Both of these albums are out at the moment and you can also buy these songs on their own from itunes.

The Kooks are back!

Thank goodness for Facebook as the other day I was on this and low and behold there was a link to a new Kooks video, but I unfortunatly

From this you can see that it's in my opinion not the greatest Kooks song I've ever heard and I can't say that it matches up to their first album songs that were to my mind great as I vouldn't stop listening to them on repeat. I don't really know what to make of the lyrics 'Give Me A Pig's Heart And A Glass Of Wine'. I'm just probably being too harsh but I just hope that with them being in the Live Lounge today with Fearne Cotton that their cover song sounds better than this as I really could go off liking them with this record and I really don't want to as I love them sooo much as a band.

But however if you want to get this single or buy the album then you'll need to remember these dates: the album 'Junk Of The Heart' you can pre-order on itunes for £7.99, the track listing for this album are:

But if you want to get your hands on a hard CD copy you can pre-order this from HMV where it is free UK delivery or you can get this from Play.com

But saying this I have heard Noel Gallager's new song that he's done on his own and that to me just sounds like a repeat of 'The Importance Of Being Idle'...and if I was Liam I'd be laughing if that is what he can turn out on his own but saying that Liam's new band Beady Eye are to my mind just as bad and it just goes to show that if their writing bad songs on their own then that is a pretty big reason why they should get back together as when they were together the songs they wrote were unbelievably good!

I have also just seen that the new band that Noel has formed on his on 'The High Flying Birds' sounds to my mind just as rubbish and a bit pretentious as well as Liam's band 'Beady Eye'...well I just thought it really doesn't sound that pretencious but maybe a bit shit! But I'm sure there are fans of either band that are going to have me for posting this but as I do keep mentioning this is only my opinion so I'm free to write this and if you don't agree with this you can comment about it.

I just thought as well if you want to get this album you can also pre-order the album 'Noel Gallagher and the high flying birds' from play.com for £8.99 and like with HMV the delivery is free. The track listing for this album is:
  1. Everybody's On The Run

  4. The Death Of You and me
  5. (I Want To Live In A Dream) in my record machine
  6. AKA...what a life!

Lone Ranger May Ride Again!

Thanks to Deadline Hollywood I just had to post this as it got me all excited to hear about this news...The Lone Ranger which was stopped right in the middle of shooting because of budget problems may get the greenlight once again, that is if Gore Verbinski and Jerry Bruckheimer the producers on this film can present the right kind of budget to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Rich Ross. At the moment they have both put forward a new budget for this film which is down from the original budget that scared off Disney as it was at a staggering $275m.

But now both producers have gone back to the drawing board with their proposed budget for this movie and as yet both Verbinski and Walt Disney Studios haven't agreed on the budget for the film but originally the studio wanted the budget for The Lone Ranger to be around the $200m mark.

Not only this but there are a few little problems that have already reared their ugly little head...this being that Johnny Depp who is already in on this project to play Tonto he wont do the film without Gore Verbinski directing it, which he has already done Rango with...this you'll be pleased to hear is up for an Oscar this year as Best Animated Picture of the Year. So not only this, but Verbinski has already said to Walt Disney that he won't take the budget down to a point where it's not the same movie that he set out to make.

So in other words if this budget isn't sorted out rather sharpishly then the studio will be in danger of losing Johnny Depp who will definitely make this film very popular among cinema goers as I know that as I am a huge fan of Johnny Depp films that I would definitly go to see this one. However, another problem that Walt Disney have is when to schedule the release date for this film...originally this was going to be released on December 21st 2012 but that then would be competing with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey which comes out on December 14th 2012, which to my mind would not be a viable option for the studio as the Hobbit has an astronomical amount of fans that would be going to see that movie and some of these fans are just as bonkers as the Harry Potter fans were as some on the last wave of Hobbit films went dressed up like Orcs, Saroman, and the Hobbits themselves...which if you ask me was a bit freaky as some of the people dressed up as Orcs really went for it with the makeup.

Anyhew....Gore Verbinski, Jerry Bruckheimer as well as Johnny Depp himself have been trying to do all they can to get the budget down, things like Bruckheimer and Walt Disney  have been going through every scene and discussing what they could do to lower the budget by toning down the number of scenes in Justin Haythe’s script...this I think is a good idea to do as I heard a couple of months ago that some of the scenes in the movie were going to feature massive special effects that use some Native American folklores such as werewolves...this to me sounded silly as I could smell the 'only done this for a money spinning idea for the film because of Twilight' and this as we know raked in a lot of money.

But I hope this film does get made as it has been seen in the past that big budgeted Western films don't get a good international reception which will be very hard for Verbinski as Deadline Hollywood says that he has a bad reputation for wanting big budgets on films and putting his foot down when he is told he can't have this. So we'll just have to wait and see if this actually does get the greenlight as I bet this will be spectacular if the studio does give Gore his big budget.
