The Raven Trailer is here!

Thank god for Itunes showing trailers and now the hotly anticipated...well hotly anticipated film from me, but now I think that I'll be biting my fingers with anticipation to know when this film is going to come out as this film has been directed by none other than James McTeigh (the amazing mind behind V for Vendetta which is definitely one of the films in a very long list of my favourite films.)

This film if your unfamiliar with the story shows John Cusack as the writer Edger Allen Poe whose books have a definite horror crime feel to them, anyway....Poe is called in by detective Emmett Fields who will be played by Luke Evans. Emmett is investigating a series of gruesome and grisly murders that seem to be inspired by Poe's books, therefore Fields draws the conclusion that the murderer is taunting Poe and wants to draw him in in a battle of wits that not only threaten the lives of all that are around but the life of Edger's beloved Emily who will be played by Alice Eve.

If you want to have a little gander at this trailer as no doubtedly you will then here it is below:

If you ask me the way that Empire and other websites describe the story line to this film it definitely gives off the sense that all that were involved in this project wanted to give this period project a definite Sherlock Holms and Professor Muriarty cat and mouse battle between Edger Allen Poe, Detective Emmett Fields and the murderer...but only the old school cat and mouse game that was played out in the TV series of Sherlock Holms with Jeremy Brett as Sherlock.

Brendan Gleeson whose been in movies such as Harry Potter as MadEye Moody, In Bruges with Colin Farrel as the older at the end of his hitman career who at the end after not being able to kill Colin Farrel throws himself off a church tower, will also be in this movie.

Oliver Jackson- Cohan who was in Going the Distance (and in case you didn't see this, this was the film that starred Drew Barrymore and her 'man child' boyfriend at the time Justin Long), will also be in this film.

Kevin McNally will also be in this picture. In case the name doesn't immediatly pop up for you, he as I have seen on the web either the guy from Pirates of The Caribean who we the audience saw in the first film having to be woken up from falling asleep with pigs on the island of Tortuga, or it is the guy who played Geoffrey in Coupling.

Thankfully we'll be able to see this flutter.... I'm sorry about the pun but I just couldn't resist into our cinemas on March 9th 2012.

So...we'll just have to wait until this date then to see how this Sherlockean battle plays out.
