More word of The Host

Thanks to Empire Magazine I have found out that things on the Host being adapted from Stephanie Meyer's book to cinema screens are moving on quite slowly but surely as they've already got Saoirose Ronan to star as the lead Melanie Stryder.

If you haven't read the book then all credit to you as I have and all I can say is that nothing really happens up until the end so I hope that the film will be a lot more exciting.

But here is the story in case if you are still in the dark:

The story is set in the future where human race are being used as hosts for an alien race...these in turn drown out if you like the human host's thoughts and feelings thus making them become shells, these then live in their own communities that reflect them the homes are just shells with no photos just beds and the basics.

However there are some humans who have left their homes to go live underground and have to keep moving in order to survive as the aliens have teams of kind of police that capture humans so that the aliens can survive human planet...here is where Melanie comes in she and her brother Ian go on the run with Jared another man that's on the run that Melanie falls in love with Ian and Jared manage to go underground but Melanie gets corned in Chicago and soon has an alien in her that is called Wnderer...but Melanie is still there.

So Wanderer leaves the community to find Jared and Ian but in the end befriends the community of humans that are living underground away from the aliens.

Anyhew...Jake Abel who was in the Lovely Bones with Ronan is at the moment in negotiations with the director Andrew Niccol to play Ian in this film adaption.

Also other names that have been thrown around for this film have been Max Irons who was in Red Riding Hood, Kit Harrington, and Liam Hemsworth.

But Max Irons will as an update on Empire's website says that he will play Jake another human that Wanderer befriends.
