Bloody Disgustic has got word on 11-11-11 horror

Thanks to Bloody Distgusting Darren Lynn Bousman will direct a new horror that will be released out on November 11th...just to give the film an edge.

This horror plays with the idea that the number 11 means more thann just a number...ie the number 11 crops up sometimes in people's lives and that means that this number is alerting people about angels and demons are trying to communicate with them.

This film also plays with this idea but also centres around the idea that there are 11 gates of Heaven and on the 11th day of the 11th month this 11th gate will open and something from another world will use this gate to try and enter our world.

But the official story to this film is that after the tragic death of his wife and child, author Joseph Crone goes to Barcelona with his companion Sadie to reunite with his estranged brother Samuel and his dying father Richard. But fate has other ideas...Joseph's life soon becomes plagued by weird things going on and the repeated sighting of the number 11. Curiosity at these two things soon becomes obsession, and Joseph soon realizes that 11 holds a horrific meaning not just for him but for all people of all religions. Along with Sadie, Joseph quickly sees that 11/11/11 isn't just a date it's a warning.

Also Bousman has written this horror...and it stars:
  • Timothy Gibbs he will be Max Payne in the 3 Max Payne game.
  • Michael Landes you may or may not have seen him in 'Love Soup' or he was also in a Miss Marple case where he was competing for a girl with John Hannah.
  • Wendy Glenn was in a film called 'Mercy' but for any HollyOaks fans you'll no doubtedly know who she is.
  • Lluis Soler
  • Angela Rosal
  • Brendan Price
  • Salome Jimienez
  • Benjamin Cook
  • Montse Alcoverro
I have also heard on another link to this page there is a new trailer to this film...so I will try and hunt this down for you

Another Spielberg film Project...

In an earlier posrt on this blog...I wrote how Spielberg had many many films lined up along with his War Horse film which will be out right slap bang in the middle of award season (so says Empire Magazine).

Lincoln which Dreamworks are going to distribute is a movie that has been adapted by Tony Kushner who has also write the screenplay for this. The film is based on the bestselling biography that was written by the historian Doris Kearns Goodwin about America's 16th president. Daniel-Day-Lewis has already been cast as Abraham Lincoln as well as Sally Field who will play Abraham's wife...in case your not sure who she is she plays Norah Walker in Brothers and Sisters.

Also cast are:
  • Tommy Lee Jones
  • Joseph Gordan-Levitt
  • James Spader he was the doctor in Stargate the film that Kurt Russell was in and you may or may not have seen him in Boston Legal.
  • John Hawkes he was in Miam i Vice as Alonso who killed himself as his undercover operation goes bad and the bad guys kidnap his wife Leonetta.
  • Bruce McGill was in 'The Cinderella Man' as the guy who takes away Russel Crowe's character's boxing license away. Or if you didn't see that film then you might have seen him in 'Law Abiding Citizen'.
  • Tim Blake Nelson was in another Russel Crowe film 'Virtuosity' as the computer programmer who creates Russel Crowe's evil computer character and wants to make him come alive and into society but he bases him on loads of psycotic criminals.
  • Hal Holbrook he starred alongside Charlie Sheen in the first film about Gordan Geccoh and had Michael Douglas in as this character.
And now it's been confirmed that David Strathairn who you might have seen as Noah Vosa in 'The Bourne Ultimatum' alongside Matt Damon. This film has been schedueld to start shooting in the autumn and will set to be released in late 2012.

Underworld 4:New Dawn

I saw a few days ago something about there maybe being another Underworld in devlopment but foolishly I didn't bother to read all the facts so I have been hanging in limbo for some days now as I haven't had all the facts with me...but after spending many hours reading blog post after blog post to check facts and make sure they are really facts and not purely works of fiction I now have all the facts for this film.

Underworld 4:New Dawn will see Selen come back to the fold (and yes, before all you Underworld fans start to hyperventilate to see whether Kate Beckinsale will be back playing this role...I can confirm that she will, but other cast mambers are still a little bit hazzy)

Collider.com have had the good fortune to hear from Bloody Disgusting blog the initial plot synopsis for this film:

After being held in a coma like state for 15yrs, Selene wakes up to learn that she has a hybrid Vampire/Lycan (werewolf) 14yrs daughter, and she has to find Nissa so as to stop BioCom from creating supercharged Lycans that will destroy all of them.

This film has been schedueled to start shooting this March in Vancouver. Len Wiseman (Mr. Beckinsale) will produce this film but at the helm of this film will be the Swedish duo Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein will direct and John Hlavin has written the first draft script of this film. But J. Michael Straczynsk will do any revisions to this script. I.E it sounds like to me that he'll do any rewrites.

War Horse trailer

This is the first look at just one of Steven Spielberg's upcoming film projects. If you don't know the story then that's fine by me as I can just imagine all teachers who have taught classes this story or anyone who has seen the WestEnd version of this Michael Monpurgo's book or read this story even tutting as I put this post up on this blog...or even them shaking their head in astonishment that there is someone out there in the 'blogasphere' who hasn't read this story.

Anyhew...here it is anyway. War Horse follows the story of a horse called Joey and how he is trained and made to be a tame horse (as you can see in the trailer above) by Albert who is played by Jeremy Irvine in the years before the First World War breaks out. But when the war does come around Joey is sent to the front line and he must leave behind Albert ( big Aw!!!!!!!!!). Albert then vows to go and find him, but by the end Emilie's grandfather buys him to save Joey from the butcher (which is nice) as he promised her that when she died he would find the horse that she loved and buy him. But her grandfather recognises how much Albert loves the horse he sells Joey to him on the condition that Albert loves Joey for the rest of his life. And he only sells Joey to Albert for 1 penny. Another big Aw moment.

So now we're all up to date on the details of what vaguely happens in the story of War Horse...but if you want to see this film then you can see this in our cinema's and not across the pond in America then you can do so on January 13th 2012.

Just thought I should let you know who else is going to be in this film. So here is the cast members:
  • Benedict Cumberbatch...you'l all no doubtedly have seen in the TV series 'Sherlock' or more recently than this he has been starring alongside Johnny Lee Miller in Danny Boyle's stage adaption of Frankenstein.
  • Tom Hiddleston who was most recently in Thor playing Loki
  • Niels Arestrup who you may or may not have seen in a film called 'The Beat That My Heart Skipped'
  • Eddie Marsam who was in Sherlock Holms with Dave (sorry...Jude) Law as Lestrade and he was also in Miami Vice as the guy who got the new look Crocker and Tubbs into the undercover drugs operation where Colin Farrel meets Isabella.
  • Emily Watson who you may or may not remeber was in Equilibrium as the other person that was like Christian Bale's character who stops taking the emotion stopping drugs, or if you have watched Heroes she was the Irish girl who teams up with Milo Ventigmilia.
  • David Thewlis who you'll no doudtedly  have seen in Harry Potter playing the werewolf who teaches Harry to create his white stag to protect himself from Death Eaters. Also he is Anna Friel's husband.
  • David Kross he was in 'The Reader' with Kate Winslet as the love interest.

Bill and Ted Part...excellent party time!

I heard through the grapevine a while ago that there was going to be another Bill and Ted film, but I wasn't very sure that that rumour wasn't going to be more than just another rumour and come to nothing...well I have read a blog post from last year on MTV's website that Alex Winter who played Bill in the film has been playing around with the idea of bringing Bill and Ted back to our cinema screens...this to me sounds a most excellent idea! (sorry MTV but this is not a steal on what you have called this blog post it is just pure coincidence)

According to Winter, he's been playing around with an idea to bring Bill and Ted back '...over the years...' and that he wanted the idea for this film to be '...kind of genuine in spirit as the original without falling prey to retro cynicism...'

Also Winter said in this same Twitter interview last year that Chris Matherson and Ed Solomon (both screenwriters) have been working on this idea for the new film with him.

But as you can see by the details in this blog post of mine everything is still sketchy and up in the air as there is no script yet as Winter has explained that there still needs to be one in which all involved can sit down and look at one that they all agree on or as in his words '...is the best that it can be...'

So we'll have to see what happens but as I loved the first film when it came out I'll be crossing all my fingers and toes hoping this film and these rumours actually come to something and not straight into the bin or hit a stone wall.

Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol

Thanks to Paramount Pictures and Empire Magazine I have the great fortune of seeing the first look of the new Mission Impossible film that I know that I have been dying to see as there have been mouthwatering stills from this film been printed in the Sun Newspaper.

This film thankfully arrives on December 26th. Also this is the first new look Mission Impossible film by the new director at the helm Brad Bird. I have to say, from my first viewing of this trailer I think it really does make my mouth water, and I really can't wait for it to come out at the cinema. I think I won't be able to hold on this long...it does make me feel like a kid in a sweet shop as all the things in this trailer look great I couldn't say which part looks like it's going to be the best part in the movie.

Exclusive: The Thing news!

I have just found on Wikipedia and thanks to several movie blogs I have double checked my facts on this new movie that I have heard is being sort of redone.

The Thing will be released on October 14th this year and I am very excited about this as I have heard a lot about but not found any news until now. This film is based on the short story novel by John W. Campbell Jr. that was published using his pen name of Don A. Stuart in August 1938 called 'Who Goes There?'. Like the new X Men: First Class this film will be a 'prequal' or a film to fill in the blanks of where it all began.

As the film suggests this will be a science fiction film just like the book that the film is based on. Just to not get confused this was originally a science fiction short story novel then in 1982 John Carpenter turned this story into a film with the same name. So now it's being kind of jump started and put into the 21st Century but I don't think you can really say that this is a reboot as this will be a prequel to Carpenter film.

The story if you are unfamiliar with the story of 'Who Goes There?' in which both of these films are based then here it is:

A group of researchers isolated in Antarctica find buried deep in the ice find an alien spacecraft, they use a thermite charger to thaw out the spacecarft but end up destroying it when the magnesium hull of the craft gets ignited by the charge. However they do recover the alien pilot who has been frozen so using the charge they thaw him out, but duh duh duh...this brings chaos as the thawing revives it and they soon relise that this alien can a mimic any living organism's shape, memories and personality that it eats. Immediately it imitates the crews physicist Connant, but with only 90% of it's body matter left it tries to imitates a sled dog next and when it becomes this dog the crew kill it.

But this film takes place three days before the events of Carpenter's film, Paleontologist Kate Lloyd and her two assistants Davida Morris and Adam Goodman join a Norwegian scientific team that finds a spaceship buried in the ice of Antarctica, when they find this they also discover a creature that seems to have died in the crash yonks ago.

However, they try an experiment they try to free this creature from its frozen prison goes wrong Kate, Davida join Carter (the crew's pilot) to try and kill the creature before it digests them and imitates them  one by one, as it's the same in the book that this creature can perfectly mimic any living organism through digestion, but not only do they have to kill it for their sake's but they have to kill it before it gets out and reaches civilization.

Here is a trailer for this film, I think this is the actual theatrical trailer for it but I'm sorry if it isn't

The director for this film is Matthijs Van Heijningen Jnr. , and the producers are Marc Abrahams and Eric Newman. The cast is as follows:

  • Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Kate) you would have seen her recently as the girl in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
  • Joel Edgerton (Carter) He will be acting alongside Tom Hardy in the mixed Martial Arts film Warrior. Also I know I do go back to this a lot but it was a good film to laugh at 'Kinky Boots'.
  • Ulrich Thomsen (Dr. Sander Halversen) you might recognise him from 'The World Is Not Enough' James Bond film where he gets burnt by the burning rocks at 'the devil's breath' and then killed by Robert Carlisle or you might have seen in Hitman as Mikhael Bellacoff.
  • Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Derek Jameson) he was in Bourne Identity as Wambozie who was wanting to write a book with the help of the FBI to give out names of important people within that organization and he also claimed that someone had tried to kill him.
  • Eric Christian Olsen (Adam Goodman) was Chip in Cellular
  • Davetta Sherwood (Davida Morris) she is in 'The Young and The Restless'
  • Jonathan Walker (Colin) you will recognize him from Shooter as the guy at the end of the film who gets shot in the knee.
  • Kim Bubbs (Juliette) she was in a film called 'Maternal Obsession'
This is the immediate cast. I hope you like this.

Shark Night 3D

Thanks to the I Am Rogue Network and Empire Magazine I have finally seen the trailer to this film tat I first heard about on Empire's website but I didn't upload any info about this film up onto the blog, and now I've seen the trailer on the Rogue Network.

So here it is now:

This to me looksd like it may be a 21st Century better version of Jaws now that they've made the shark a CGI creation.

It has been announced that Relativity Media will release on September 2nd 2011 Shark Night 3D. The Director of Final Destination 2 David R. Ellis will be on hand to direct this film, and producing it will be Chris Briggs, Mike Fleiss and Lynette Howell. The Script has been written by Jesse Studerberg and Will Hayes.

This sounds to me like an old fashioned scary film but with an old Jaws take on things such as Ellis has used the theme of isolation as the main scare factor but when you put a CGI Shark in the mix you know that it's going to get a whole lot worse as people get picked off one by one and your isolated so you are cut off from any contact to help...actually if I think about this this kind of a film has been done already in a thousand different ways in a thousand different films that I've seen. Take for example:

  • Jaws (all of the films)
  • Deep Blue Sea
  • Piranha 3D
Anyhew... the story goes that a group of college friends go to a remote LakeHouse in the Louisiana's Gulf...then suddenly this holiday becomes their nightmare as they discover a shark in the lake and attacks start happening which is odd as this is a freshwater lake. It soon becomes apparent that the attacks are happening as a result of a sick and twisted greedy plan of several of the locals and they get Deputy Fallon to help save the day and help them fight off the sharks.

The cast are:

  • Sara Paxton (Sara) you might have seen her AquaMarine
  • Dustin Milligan (Nick)you might have seen him as Ethan in the new 90210
  • Chris Zylka (Blake) you might have/have not in my case seen him in Kaboom
  • Katherine McPhee (Beth) she was a season 5 contestant on American Idol
  • Alyssa Diaz (Maya) she was in the Ben 10 film Alien Swarm
  • Sinqua Walls (Malika) I think he was in Final Destination not sure which one it is but in the film he is killed in the gym with 2 crossed over swords.
  • Joel David Moore (Gordon) all of you will recognise him from Dodgeball as the one who fancied the Lady In Red and he was also in a Katy Perry music video.
  • Courtney Hope (Marcy) She can be seen in a horror film called Prowl
  • Christine Quinn (Jessica)
  • Kyla Pratt (Karla) all who watch Trouble TV and have seen One On One the TV show will recognise her as the daughter of the ex-basketball player who is her father.
  • Damon Lipari (Keith) He has been in Wrong Side Of Town.
  • Jessica Blake (Sharona) was in The Butterfly Tattoo that was released in 2008
  • Chris Carmack (Dennis) Luke from the OC (was going out with bMarissa played by Mischa Barton in the show)
  • Grant-Anthony(Brent)
  • Donal Logue- you'll recognise him from being in Close to Heaven or something along those lines with Resse Witherspoon as the old friend of her sister who her sister trys to set Reese up on a date with.
  • Ving Rhames (Deputy Fallon) He was in Mission Impossible as Stickler

I just had to put this on the blog!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a whisper of a rumour going round the land of Hollywood at the moment. This is the fantastic rumour that there will be another Jurassic Park film. Yes, I know this has done the rounds as Joe Johnston the director of Captain America was boasting last year how he had heard there was to be another film in the Jurassic series.

But now....The Hollywood Reporter has heard talk that Spielberg is back thinking of starting up the brilliant films that were Jurassic Park and has been brainstorming ideas on this subject with Mark Protosevich (the screenwriter, he has been talking with Protosevich as to brainstorm ideas for a possible story.

So any Jurrasic fans out there like me will just be soooooooooooooooooo! excited by this news, thinking about this if there was a wif of a rumour that Indiana Jones was coming back to the silver screen this would be the cherry on top of a very very exciting movie news sandwich! LOL

New G.I name

A new name has been thrown into the mix of who will be in the next G.I Joe film. Well this time, the name that's been thrown is a French actress by the name of Elodie Yung. In case your like me and the name doesn't ring any bells well I''ll help you out...she was in the follow up to District 9...not so originally named District 13:Ultimatum. In this she played Tao who was a tough girl that took on corrupt cops and fought using a knife in her ponytail.

At the moment she is talking with Paramount says The Hollywood Reporter to join Channing Tatum and Dwayne Johnson. In this she'll play a new character Jinx who is a ninja member of the G.I Joe Squad. However, as I was saying in my post before this one as the last Joe film was very disappointing there will be more new characters apart from Tatum's character from the first film. This if I think about it is a good idea as I think this has been done to freshen up the film and make it be taken as a serious action film instead of a joke like the last one...and as I was thinking last night I think this is what Guy Ritchie needed to do as I know he had one amazing film but I think he hung around with the cast of that film 'Lock, Stock and Two Smokin' Barrels' for too long as every film he did after that was the same old, same old with his films being with being of the gangster genre with guns, cockney hard men, girls and bumbling hard men. If you don't believe this just watch 'Lock, Stock...'. 'Snatch', and 'Revolver' and you know what I mean.

You can also see her in the new 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' as the lesbian girlfriend of Rooney Mara in this adaption of this hit Swedish film that will now be directed by David Fincher.

Lorenzo di Bonvaventura will produce.

No Not Another G.I Joe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard the worst news possible...there will be a G.I Joe 2. Also Channing Tatum's character from the first film will return and possibly Ray Park's Snake Eyes. This is a film that I really think would have done better without the casting of Sienna Miller because I'd see the trailers for that film and think it looks like a ridonkulous film but what the hell is Dave Law's on off girlfriend doing in it.

Anyhew...according to Empire the director of this monstrosity will be Jon M Chu and the writter Rhett Rhys and Paul Wernick who will write this 3D film want the rest of the cast from the first film to return but they haven't even signed on the dotted line of any of their contracts to fully commit to the film... but if I were them I would have to do some hard thinking after how well the last film was recieved with the lack of people paying to see the film.

But...Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a The Rock for all those who watch WWE Wrestling) has been opening up negotiations with Paramount who will distribute this film that has no confirmed title yet but the unofficial one that their working with so far is Cobra Strikes. The character that he'll play is to me a ridonkulous one as his nickname is Roadblock a.k.a Marvin F Hinton. He is a tough guy but has always wanted to be a chef before he joined the army.

Shooting for this film has been hoped to start this summer so that the film can be released next year.

Superman:Man Of Steel news

Talking of rebooting a comic book legend, Superman:Man Of Steel that will see our own Henry Cavill (the hot best friend of Jonathan Rhys Meyers's Henry Tudor in the show 'The Tudors that dies before Henry in the final episode in the last season of the show) as Superman has already according to Variety Magazine Online has already started negotiations for Russel Crowe to play Jor-El the real father of Superman. This for me is exciting news as I think he is a fantastic actor.

This film I can tell you with some certainty will be good as Christopher Nolan will be just one of the producers that will produce along with Emma Thomas, Deborah Synder and Charles Roven. The executive producers of this film will be Thomas Tull and Lloyd Philips.

This film will be distributed by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Zack Synder will direct this film with the all star cast with the likes of:
  • Amy Adams
  • Kevin Costner (that's right you did read this right, your eyes are not decieving you)
  • Diane Lane
  • Michael Shannon
David Goyer has written the script for this and has developed the story for the silver screen with Nolan. This film is set to be released in late 2012, and Synder setting to start shooting next month.

Listen up Batfans

Yesterday on Empire Magazine website there was the breaking news that there was maybe an old character returning to the scene of Christopher Nolan's caped crusader film (sadly though as you all know that this will be his last Batman film but also you know that after Nolan is done with this legendary film franchise it will get rebooted).

According to Hitfix movie blog Liam Nieson was seen on the set on Monday of Batman:The Dark Knight Rises shooting scenes as Ra's al Ghul. It's not clear though as all you batman fans or anybody who watched the film saw that Ra's was killed at the end of the first film when Bruce/Batman dislodged the train he was on with the stolen microwave emitter on from the tracks that ran all the way to Wayne Tower.

So...what is this. It hasn't been made clear whether this was a flashback or if Nolan has brought this character back from the dead to be in the current storyline.

This though is just another in a long lime of rumours surrounding this film as nobody knows for sure what is going to happen as Christopher Nolan is playing his cards very close to the chest, which by my thinking is what it should be all things to be inkeeping with the secrecy of Batman. In case your like me and haven't heard the other rumours surrounding the films, they are apparently Talia Ra's daughter will appear in the films and apparently Ra's son comes into this film to exact revenge on his father.

But... I think that this just might be a very clever trick by Christopher Nolan to leak something or anything about the film to the press or bloggers that are just waiting with bated breath for just a wif of news about The Dark Knight Rises, so as to take them off the scent of what he's really doing with the film. Or I would take this along with anyother rumour with a pinch of salt that's circulating about the film, and I would just do as I've been doing about this news...wait till news gets put onto Empire Magazine website because then you know that this news is official.

Summit Entertainment really go for it

I've just been on Marie Claire's website and I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that Summit Entertainment who obviously distribute the Twilight films, have really gone for it in the first part of 'Braking Dawn' (the last film in the series), as they've managed to get one of the most infamous designers...and in my opinion all her dressers are simple designs but very stylish, elegant and when you see them in a clothes shop you want to wear it and when you wear them you look stunning in her clothes.

I digress...she will be the designer of Kristen Stewarts 'Bella Swann's' wedding dress in Part 1 of these double part films. So I wonder what this will look like but I can bet you that it will be stunning.

Jack White news...

I read this yesterday on @CiMarsLover Twitter page...so I have to say that this is for me not so new news but I thought that I might just put this on here anyway.

Apparently Jack White from the White Stripes fame has divourced his wife and they're planning to host a divource party for this. This to me sounds very weird as they have both issued a statement saying that this party will be:

'...a chance to reaffirm their friendship'

This sounds very weird to me as I don't really think that if you got a divource you'd want to have a party but I suppose if you think about it there is always some sort of drink at parties so having drink at this kind of a party would be ideal because you could drown your sorrows over a good bottle of champagne or any other kind of drink. So I might have to rethink my views on divource parties! Lol!

Lots of new music

Sorry guys if you have been reading this blog and waiting for new news on any new bands but it has just been crazy in that department as I have found lots of new stuff for you to listen to but haven't had time to put them up on the blog...well now I've found the time to upload these.

Thanks to ID Magazine online I have found a London based singer/songwriter 'Emmy the Great' and I really think that her song 'Iris' is really worth a listen to as it sounds great and they have also put up on their Twitter page the interview which they did with her. I liked this interview that they did as it really made me want to listen to her music as the way she described her music sounded to me so intriging as there to my mind has never been any other artist writing music like she is doing.

http://www.i-donline.com/i-spy/i-n-conversation-emmy-great

This is the link that you need to see this interview with 'Emmy the Great'. I really did like this interview but I was getting annoyed by some girls in the background being very loud so it was hard to hear her interview.

Also I have heard Elissa Franceshi the cousin of Josh from You Me At Six. Her album 'Into the Light' which is out July 1st new single 'Rainbow on Fire'. I love this song and have to say congratulations to You Me At Six who won an award at the Kerrang! Awards on the 9th June. I also have to congratulate 30 Seconds To Mars for winning 'Best International Band' and 'Best Single 'Hurricane' ' (I think that this video should have had an award as it is like a mini movie).  Also I have to say that that is true for all of their great music video. Thanks to @CiMarsLover for uploading on his blog the new Hugo Boss advert Jared Leto has done. Also there new video for 'Hurricane; is on their official website and I have seen it, but I have to admit that my viewing pleasure of this was spoilt a bit by my parents coming dangerously close to my laptop while I was watching this (I have to admit that the version I chose to watch and probably the best version of this video has to be the uncensored version of this...but it was like a mini action movie).

http://thirtysecondstomars.thisisthehive.net/hurricane/

This is worth having a little gander as the song is fantastic but if you are an Echelon (a fan of 30 Seconds To Mars) like me you will have already have seen this. Here you can choose what view you want to see this new video, and if there is any tracks from the new album you want to listen to you can go to:

http://www.myspace.com/cinzia1977

This is @CiMarsLover 's myspacepage where you'll find some of the new tracks from 'This Is War'.

Also there is a London based Eli&Fur DJ group that I have found that I love there tracks that they have up on their website.

Here is these tracks, here is the link to their facebook page where you can listen to their tracks but also find out where they are next playing.

Super Zero to be based on the graphic novel 'Tales from the Farm'

John Dykstra (the visual effects supervisor on X Men First Class) is going to be directing says Variety Magazine. This will see him doing 'Super Zero' a film that will be based on Jeff Lemire's graphic novel 'Tales From The Farm'.

John Carr has written a screenplay for this. Steven Gilder and Alec Chorches will produce. The visual effects company Rhythm and Hues Studios will make this film. Steven Gilder has also told Variety the plans of the producers which are:

'...to have a strong hard push in the next few weeks, either locking in cast and/or getting commitments from financing and/or distributors, (then) going to the studios with a package...'

According to Rhythm and Hues visual effects studios the story line for this film will be edgy but will still be family friendly and this will be backed up by the live action and visual effects sequences within the film. The family friendly storyline for this film is:

A 10 year old ophan boy goes to live with his uncle. Their relationship is strained and the boy goes onto befriend the towns gas station owner who used to be a pro hockey player and both he and this boy escape into a private world of fantasy with superheroes and alien invaders.

Also, this will be Dykstra's first feature film that he will direct himself as there have been other feature films but he has only produced them, these being 'Spider Man 2' and the TV series 'Battlestar Gallactica'.

Hold The Bus....Darren Aronofsky is doing Noah's ARK

I have just read the exclusive breaking news on Deadline Hollywoods blog that Darren who in spectacular fashion directed 'Black Swan', but now he has wrote a script that is as we speak being rewritten by John Logan, and he wants to direct a film retelling of Noah's Ark but this time this retelling will be an edgier version of the story.

Aronofsky wants $130 million to get this film off the ground and so far he has the interest of New Regency but they will only put up half the cash for this and are interested in doing a co financing deal...so the other interested parties for this are:

  • Paramount Pictures
  • Summit Entertainment
  • Fox
This film is described by Deadline as 'a fantasy epic and an oppertunity for Aronofsky to create a world'. Deadline also says that Aronofsky is very passionate about this film and wants this to be his next film.  Also Aronofsky also has reluctantly agreed to do the also co financed project of 'Exodus' which he will direct along with 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainent producing, this tells the story of Moses which we all know by now but in case you don't here it is:

He is brought up to be the Pharaoh's son then finds out that actually he is really the son of a slave therefore he defies the Pharaoah and leads the slaves out of slavery, but when the Pharoah finds out he orders them all to come back then as a punishment for not letting them go the Pharaoh and his people have to endure the 9 plagues.

The script for this was written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage.

Speaking of 'Clash of The Titans'

Sam Worthington who was the star of the show in 'Clash Of The Titans' along with being the star of the show in James Cameron's 'Avatar' haas been locked into a preemptive deal that Warner Bros. have done with Aaron Guzikowski according to Deadline Hollywood.

This deal sees Warner Bros. wanting Aaron to write for them and Basil Iwanyk will produce...so you might say that this is a reunion of sorts with how Basil is at the moment under his Thunder Road Production Company producing the sequel to 'Clash Of The Titans'.

This is all the info I can get on this film but I can tell you that Aaron has been a busy boy apart from this as he wrote 'Prisoners' and this script has been sold to Alcon Entertainment and at the helm of this film will be 'Incredies' director Denis Villeneuve to direct this. Aaron has also just scripted for Universal Studios and Working Title the already wrapped 'Contraband' remake that stars Mark Wahlberg, Kate Beckinsale and Ben Foster. Also, he is at the moment writing the script for 'Awake' which he's doing for the USA Network as well as also writing at the moment 'The Descendents' for HBO.

Basil though has been just as busy with producing 'The Town' and prepping 'Seventh Son' which Jeff Bridges will star as well as doing the same to Clint Eastwood directed 'A Star Is Born' (a film that he's done with Beyonce).

Big Man Japan to be filmed

Comic actor Hitoshi Matsumoto's story of 'Big Man Japan' is according to Variety Magazine going to be made into a film by Columbia Pictures and Original Film teaming up to produce this.

Columbia Pictures have bought the rights from Matsumoto's agency Yoshimoto Kogyo Co. and the subsidiary Yoshimoto Creative Agency to remake this Japanese comedy into an English language film as well as them having the rights to also make the sequel to this comedy. They've already given Original's Neal H. Mortiz (he wrote 'The Green Hornet') the task of directing as well as producing this film. Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (who wrote 'Clash Of The Titans) have been asked to write the script to this.

So...these directors and producers have been agreed on but there is still to see who will be part of the cast of the film.

The jist of this story is that Big Man Japan protects civilians as head of The Department Of Monster Prevention from monsters and he uses electricity to grow so as to fight off these monsters, but that in itself causes a problem as his size causes him to cause as much damage as he prevents thus he gets mocked by people.
The jist of this film is that Big Man Japan protects the citizens from monsters as head of The Department Of Monster Prevention. He uses electricity so as to fight off these monsters

Daredevil is coming back!

20th Century Fox along with Regency are according to The Hollywood Reporter has employed screenwriter/director of Fox's Fringe Brad Caleb Kane to write the new relaunch of 'DareDevil'.

David Slade will direct this, and Dylan Clark and Peter Chernin of Chernin Entertainment will produce it. There isn't much more info on this subject that has been officially printed but David Slade does keep promising on his Twitter account that he'll put up more info but none at the moment has come through...so you know now where to go if you are foaming at the mouth to hear more about DareDevil.

But Slade and 20th Century Fox also want Brad Caleb Kane to adapt Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli's 'Born Again' comic book run, i.e this is the most famous of all the stories in these comic book says Empire Magazine online. But I do have to admit that I as a comic book reader when I was younger I never came across this storyline. But apparently it is the most famouse of them all and in case you are like me and don't know the story here it is:

Matt Murdock (the blind lawyer) has been driven mad by how he's had to go after Kingpin. And in order to get his nemesis he has lost all his worldly possesions and as a result of this he starts to believe that his friends are all in on a conspiracy against him (this includes his friend and law office partner Foggy Nelson, to me that is a great name for a sidekick), therefore he hits rock bottom. However luckily for our hero a wrong step from Kingpin makes him fight his way back. This story also originally featured Captain America.

20th Century Fox want the monkey back

Yes you heard right, 20th Century Fox Animation they want to put Kong back on the silver screen but in animation, according to Deadline Hollywood.

So far they've hired Christian Magalhaes and Bob Snow to develop a script for this modern twist on the tale as old as time story of King Kong (this'll be different as it's animated and modern but I do have to say that Peter Jackson did touch on animating Kong in his spectacular retelling of this story).

This new animation will also show the story from Kong's viewpoint, which is different as Peter Jackson's epic did  make Kong using- blue screen technology i.e putting hundreds of little points all over the face and body in a blue coloured like leotard who was playing King Kong (this was Andy Serkis in this case), and then using computers they can catch the actors movements so the animated character can move and act as if it were actually the actor was on the screen-, animated with making Kong very childlike but at the same time the whole film was focused on showing the relationship between King Kong and Niaomi Watt's character Anne Darrow.

But this is just another viewpoint...so it should be good

Another Tarzan film

Paramount are in a tizzy at the moment as they are having to decide between two, yes that's two different versions of the same old story of Tarzan so says Deadline Hollywood.

Craig Brewer the director of the much awaited redo of 'Footloose' has already done a deal with Warner Bros. to write and direct the retelling of Edger Rice Burroughs created character 'Tarzan'. However, he wants to do this retelling over three films. But screenwriter Adam Cozard has already been working on a script to do the very same-that is to retell this story but not as we know it- this is because he wants to retell this story with a different version of the man, the myth, the legend....Tarzan.

This to me is a head scratcher as both sound promising versions of Tarzan but I don't know if they went for Cozard's script that it would cause controversy as many people might get upset that the big wig distribution houses have made the much loved and known character very different to what we all know.

Anyhew... whichever one they pick it's very clear that Warner Bros. want to put Tarzan back on the big screen and back up on that vine.

Another book going to made into film

Chris Columbus under his production company 1492 has bought the rights to possibly start shooting at some point the cinema adaption of Michael Koryta thriller novel 'The Cypress House'.

As I've mentioned their is no telling when this film will be shot but Chris is expected to produce and to direct this as well as adapt this script. This tells the story of Arlen Wagner who is a World War One veteran who lives during The Great Depression. Although he has to fight his own demons with whiskey he is constantly tormented by scary visions that in a Final Destination styled forewarn him of how his friends are going to die. But these visions don't stop their as he has been spending a lot of his time at the Civilian Conservation Corps he qand a friend Paul Brickhill pop on a train to go to the Corps new camp in Florida and thus on this train he recieves a vision and therefore he and his friend get off this train and then end up at Cypress House. And it's here where he finds that the house is the focal point for lcal corruption.

This though isn't the only project that Chris has been possibly lining up to produce after his success as the producer of 'Percy Jackson and the Lighting Rod' as the other project that he's been lining up is a remake of a Korean comedy series 'Hello Ghost'

Mary Harron 'American Pyscho' director does another film

Mary Harron is set to direct Universal Studios film 'Wicked Lovely' , this will be produced by Vince Vaughn. Melissa Marr originally wrote these series of books. These books although they aren't anything remotely to do with vampires or werewolves but they do have everything to do with faeries. yes that's right fairies but just not as you and I know it.

This time around these aren't the type of fairies that you or I grew up with these are dangerous and Aislinn who this series of books centres around has seen these dangerous faeries all her life and to survive against these she has had to keep to a strict set of rules which have kept her safe. But now she has...wait for it this is where it does sound borderline Twilight got to choose between a  seductive faery king or a mortal that she loves. And now she has to against all that she was taught to confront this dangerous world in order to confront it.

Caroline Thompson of Edward Scissorhands fame will script the script, and as you already know Vince Vaughn will produce along with Victoria Vaughn and Peter Billingsley who are producing for Wild West Productions.

'Darkest Mercy' was the fifth and final book in this series of books which was published in February.

PT Anderson's new film

This doesn't have an official title yet but PT has already signed up Joaquin Pheonix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jesse Plemons and David Warshofsky.

Although we don't know it's name it is safe to say that this film will be loosely based on the birth of Scientology. Hoffman will play a man who has come back from World War II shell-shocked and then out of this starts a belief system that has the aim to help other poor souls in this post era of America. Pheonix will play Hoffman's right hand man.

Other than this news there isn't too much known about this film other than PT plans to start shooting this this month in Sacremento and Laura Dern will play a central role.

Scorsese hoping to do a Taylor and Burton film

I've just read on Deadline Hollywood blog that Paramount have bought the rights to Sam Kashner's and Nancy Schoenberger  book Furious Love that is about the love story between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

This picture will produced by Julie Yorn, Gary Foster and Russ Krasnoff of Krasnoff Foster Productions, and Scorsese through his Paramount-based Sikelia banner. This however is said to not be a biopic of these two but instead it focus on the '...torrid and tempestious romance...' (so says Deadline Hollywood)

Also, the producers have at the same time as this got the rights to the Burton estate as well as a cooperation pledge from his widow Sally Hay Burton to make his library available so as to be used as a resource. The producers have reached out to the estate of Elizabeth Taylor so as to hopefully do the same. However the screenwriters for this future film will be hired shortly, but Paramount are only at the moment in the final stages at this point to get this project off the ground and running.

So...we will have to wait and see when this film can get off the ground as Scorsese is already tied up with making a film about Frank Sinatra that he'll direct at Universal Studios.

There are plans a foot for another Comic book to come to life

There are plans to make the DC Comic's 'The Mighty' up on our screens...yes I know with other comic books already made into films such as 'Thor', 'The Green Lantern' and 'X Men' already out there that the comic books are taking over our cinemas and that anyone who hasn't read the comics or as some snobs like to call them 'Graphic Novels' is missing out on what the original storyline was, i.e making what was once thought of as being geeky to even be seen to pick up a comic book now cool...which is alright by me.

Warner Bros. and DC Comics (which Warner Bros. is partnered to) originally wanted this but luckily the writers of the comic books Peter Tomasi and Keith Champaign along with Peter Snejberg (the artist) hung onto the right to this comic book and instead went with the Benderspink production company and the  Paramount Pictures based Disruption Entertainment will produce this hopefully new comic book based film. There is no writer or director on this yet but keep your fingers crossed that this actually gets made.

If like me you haven't heard of this comic book then I'll fill you in on the story, but I must warn you I have read this story and it isn't as great as other comic books that I've read in my time. But heyhow....

The Mighty follows police officer Gabriel Cole, whose life as a youngster was saved by seemingly heroic super-powered type Alpha One. But there’s a twist: Cole discovers that the alleged hero actually has a dark side and has horrible plans for his mortal charges. So Cole decides to thwart Alpha One’s plans – no easy feat when your villain has special powers and you’re just relying on being a tough cop.

Another Nicholas Sparks film coming over the horizon

We all know that Nicholas Sparks book 'The Notebook' from the film that was a huge hit, but now I hear that Relativity Media have now got the rights to make another book of his 'Safe Haven' into a film but it has a catch...develope the script for this within 9 months or the option goes back to Sparks and he gets to keep the original payment (for the rights). I think this is a sweet deal that Sparks has got himself as I imagine that Relativity Media must have been falling over themselves in order to get these rights as other Sparks texts that have made it to films have been huge hits such as 'The Notebook' and 'Dear John'.

Relativity Media are said to want Lasse Hallstrom to direct this adaption of the book and according to Deadline 'a deal is likely to happen quickly' but I wouldn't quote me on this as we have seen previously from other film being drawn up to go onto the cinema screen having all grand plans of who will star and who will direct then at the last minuite all has to be put back as the star of the show or the director walks away...not naming names but Keanu Reeves comes to mind with an upcoming Anime film that had been planned to go to film with him as the star but then he pulled out for some mysterious reason.

The directors that Lasse worked with on his hit 'Dear John' Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will work with Lasse again on this project. Thankfully a script was developed within this 9 months by Dana Stevens and these producers as well as Ryan Kavanaugh (who is also producing) is now looking for a cast so as to start shooting this film in the autumn. It's thought that this filmv will star Ryan Reynolds and Kristen Stewart, this story will be:

A young woman in North Carolina whose family issues make her determined not to make any personal connections. But when she’s drawn into two reluctant relationships, she struggles with a dark secret from her past.

The Hobbit has names

This may be old news to some people but I was away when this story was broken on Empire Magazine's website.

Finally the Peter Jackson epic in waiting has now got official names. The first installment of this will be called:
'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey:' This will hit cinemas on December 14th 2012 and the second installment will be called:
'The Hobbit: There and Back Again'. This will hit screens on December 13th 2013.

Also, here is a list of the cast that have been confirmed to be in the film:

Martin Freeman, Orlando Bloom, Andy Serkis, Elijah Wood, Hugo Weaving, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Richard Armitage, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Stephen Fry, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Sylvester McCoy, Bret McKenzie, Graham McTavish, Mike Mizrahi, James Nesbitt, Dean O'Gorman, Lee Pace, Mikael Persbrandt, Conan Stevens, Ken Stott, Jeffrey Thomas and Aidan Turner.

And if anyone of you have joined up to Peter Jackson's Facebook page you'll already know by now that on it he has given rise to the spoiler that the White Council which was in the books being being likely to feature in the films. In case you haven't read the books here is a breakdown of what the Council was:

the Council was made up of various Elves, Wizards and others who met to maintain the peace and deal with problems through the years in Middle-earth, often focusing on the rising threat from Sauron. Elrond (Weaving), Gandalf (McKellen) and Galadriel (Blanchett) all served at one point. The Council was also involved in driving the Necromancer (actually Sauron) out of his former stronghold in Dol Guldur, forcing him back to Mordor.

Human Centipede II put on hold

The second in the ridonculous film 'The Human Centipede' has been said no to by the British Boad Of Film Classification. They said no to this sequal on the basis that there was '...sexual violent and potentially obscene..'content. This means that the DVD of this film cannot be legally sold ANYWHERE in the UK.
Sounds like to me people who saw the first film who liked it and have the DVD and want to see this second one and then maybe buy the DVD can't legally...you can imagine there being an underground network of black market sales of this DVD, or people knowing someone who knows someone with people getting secret texts where they have to meet someone in darkened allies to get this DVD...or they just go to somewhere that's not in the UK to get this DVD.

Anyhew, I digress. The first film of this was accepted by the BBFC as they say that "The first film dealt with a mad doctor who sews together three kidnapped people in order to produce the ‘human centipede’of the title. Although the concept of the film was undoubtedly tasteless and disgusting it was a relatively traditional and conventional horror film and the Board concluded that it was not in breach of our Guidelines at ‘18’. This new work."

But, the reason they say they have rejected the Human Centipede II is because...
"The principal focus of The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) is the sexual arousal of the central character at both the idea and the spectacle of the total degradation, humiliation, mutilation, torture, and murder of his naked victims. Examples of this include a scene early in the film in which he masturbates whilst he watches a DVD of the original Human Centipede film, with sandpaper wrapped around his penis, and a sequence later in the film in which he becomes aroused at the sight of the members of the ‘centipede’ being forced to defecate into one another’s mouths, culminating in sight of the man wrapping barbed wire around his penis and raping the woman at the rear of the ‘centipede’. There is little attempt to portray any of the victims in the film as anything other than objects to be brutalised, degraded and mutilated for the amusement and arousal of the central character, as well as for the pleasure of the audience. There is a strong focus throughout on the link between sexual arousal and sexual violence and a clear association between pain, perversity and sexual pleasure. It is the Board’s conclusion that the explicit presentation of the central character’s obsessive sexually violent fantasies is in breach of its Classification Guidelines and poses a real, as opposed to a fanciful, risk that harm is likely to be caused to potential viewers."

So, to me when the BBFC put it like this to my mind it is completly logical why they would reject it. However, the filmmakers (Tom Six) has six weeks to appeal to this decision. What do you guys think?

Breaking Dawn official trailer out now!

It has finally come out...the trailer that everyone including me has been waiting for. Well I say I have been waiting for it as I have previously posted on this blog information on the new editions to the cast and that this film will be done in two halves which if you like me have read the whole book will see that this is very logical as it's sooooo huge as well as having several books in one.

However, if you have read the book you probably already know about the many super cars that will be in the film. I just thought that if you haven't read the book then this will be a bit of a revelation to you and a bit of a spoiler for you but oh well!

Anyhew...the cars that will be in the film are as follows:

  • A bullet and rocket proof BMW  car for Bella before the wedding and a Ferrari for after the wedding
  • Jacob gets an Aston Martin (to ease the pain of loosing out to Edward)
I just thought that it will be very disappointing if these cars aren't in the film as they're really cool cars and it'll be a shame not to see them up on the silver screen as they are in my mind drop dead gorgeous cars that need to be in the movie

Nicola Roberts...the ginger one from Girls Aloud

Thanks to Robbie Spencer senior fasion editor at Dazed&Confused magazine online for mentioning the new single of Nicola Roberts 'Beat Of My Drum'. I 'm not a big a fan of this song but I think that the main jist of the comments on Youtube about this video are bang on, as the clothes that Nicola wears in this video are not very good. Take for example the Bridget Jones loud patterned pants that she wears at the start with a cardigan isn't very flattering, then in the middle the stylist has turned her into what looks like Vicky Pollard by scrunching her hair up into a turd on the top of her head.

It's worth a listen anyway, so if you just want to have a listen like me to know what it sounds like then have a listen, but if you do like this song then the b-side to this is 'Porcelean Heart' which is out as a single on the 18th July but this single is out 5th June 2011. And her album 'Cinderella's Eyes' is out 3rd of October 2011 and you can pre-order this at:
  1. Play.com
  2. hmv.com
  3. http://www.nicolarobertsmusic.com/ where you can get an exclusive signed copy

Elissa Franceschi...Rainbow on fire

I was just on Twitter and Josh from You Me At Six mentioned his cousin Elissa and I have seen the video on Youtube and I have to say that I really like it. I think that you should have a listen if you like new music or 'You Me At Six'.

If you like this song as much as me then you'll be pleased to know that this is her debut single from her album 'Into the Light' which is out on July 1st 2011...until then if you want to hear more from her then you'll have to stick with good old fashioned Youtube.

Daughtry...where have they been

I was just listening to my local radio station wessex fm yesterday when Daughtrys' song came on 'What About Now' but the version that Westlife covered, and it made me think that everytime I hear this song everybody on any radio station seems to forget that it was Daughtry that sang this first and that Westlife just covered it. But I'm not suprised as Westlife's whole career is covers and as George from the Home Show says the fact that no one mentions the fact that Westlife's version is a cover '...is one of my biggest gripes...'

However, I have just been on their official website and the latest news is their tour dates for this year that will be officially given out to fans of the band that have signed up to their newsletter. Also their new single 'September' is on. As well as 'Ghost Of Me' being used in CSI Miami adverts for Season 8 of the series. I like 'September' but I have to say that I might have to have a few more listens to it before I make up my mind and definitly know if I like it or not. Anyway I'll put up the vids for both:

Hope you enjoy both songs

FEAR Playstation Game

Fear 3 is out on 24th June 2011. This game can also be played on your XBOX 360, Sony PS3 and XBOX Live. Like many games this one looks like from a couple of the clips of it that it could be another Insidious...(speaking of Insidious there is from what I hear on the grapevine going to be an Insidious 2)

The story behind this game is:

Never fight fear alone – The city of Fairport is in ruins and a paranormal terror threatens to tear apart the very fabric of reality in F.E.A.R 3, the third instalment in
the hugely successful series. All-new cooperative gameplay lets you control brothers Pointman and Fettel as they continue their dysfunctional relationship. Utilise Pointman’s super soldier reflexes to slow bullet time and react to cover, or use Fettel’s telekinesis and possession to aid your ally. Also making a return is their mother, Alma, who is more terrifying than ever as she attempts to reuinite her family as she readies to give birth to an abomination that could destroy the whole world. With a storyline written by Steve Niles and cinematic direction from John Carpenter, the godfather of horror, F.E.A.R 3 is set to get your heart racing.
Blood may run deep, but FEAR runs deeper.

This to me sounds like the makers of this game wanted this to become a film after it will become a game. Also I hear on the grapevine that there are talks to be another Resident Evil film with Mila Jocovich in as 'Alice' again...to my mind this franchise should die with dignity as how far can you still go with the story of the umbrella corporation making Alice into a bionic women kind of person.

Bond 23 release date news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw on Empire Magazine online the most exciting news I think I have heard in a couple of days as it hasn't been a great few days because on Saturday I had to be rushed to hospital but I'm a lot better now in case your wondering....

Anyhew Bond 23 has now got a release date of October 26th 2012 instead of November next year, so if your a big bond fan like me then you need to clear this date in your diary. And this will be on our shores two weeks before it will be shown in America with that date being November 9th.

Also Sam Mendes will direct this so it will no doubt be good. Can't wait for it!
