Super Zero to be based on the graphic novel 'Tales from the Farm'

John Dykstra (the visual effects supervisor on X Men First Class) is going to be directing says Variety Magazine. This will see him doing 'Super Zero' a film that will be based on Jeff Lemire's graphic novel 'Tales From The Farm'.

John Carr has written a screenplay for this. Steven Gilder and Alec Chorches will produce. The visual effects company Rhythm and Hues Studios will make this film. Steven Gilder has also told Variety the plans of the producers which are:

'...to have a strong hard push in the next few weeks, either locking in cast and/or getting commitments from financing and/or distributors, (then) going to the studios with a package...'

According to Rhythm and Hues visual effects studios the story line for this film will be edgy but will still be family friendly and this will be backed up by the live action and visual effects sequences within the film. The family friendly storyline for this film is:

A 10 year old ophan boy goes to live with his uncle. Their relationship is strained and the boy goes onto befriend the towns gas station owner who used to be a pro hockey player and both he and this boy escape into a private world of fantasy with superheroes and alien invaders.

Also, this will be Dykstra's first feature film that he will direct himself as there have been other feature films but he has only produced them, these being 'Spider Man 2' and the TV series 'Battlestar Gallactica'.
