Hunger Games to be on the big screen

Leven Rambin who was the creator of so many TV shows including Private Practice, One Tree Hill, The Sarah Connor Chronicles and CSI: Miami is to make her first big step into cinemas with 'The Hunger Games'.

Lionsgate who are backing this film have been hitting their Facebook page and drip feeding all who have been waiting for any sort of info on this film. However Gary Ross has already filled his three main lead roles these are: Jennifer Lawrenson, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. However, Ross is still trying to fill the other roles for the film.

'Marvel' has already been cast aswell, he will be played by Jack Quaid, (yes, there is some relation to Dennis Quaid as he is the son of Dennis Quai and Meg Ryan). Also, the characters Tresh and Rue have also been cast. Thresh will be played by Dayo Okeniyi, and Rue will be played by Amandla Stenberg.

If you haven't read the blog (the bit at the back of the book that's wriiten by Susanna Collins when I've been in a bookstore), then the story for the film is: the kids in the book are selected from a dystopiian future America government to battle it out in gladiator style games that are televised across the country to keep the population from revolting.

Also just out, Lionsgate have just announced who will play the main character of 'Prim'. This has gone to newcomer Willow Shields. In the book Primrose is one of these selected children from each of the 12 districts, but in order to spare her life her older sister Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence's character) takes her place. Elizabeth Banks is also in talks to play Katniss's handler, this film will shortly start shooting and will hopefully be released on March 23rd next year.
